Bug#457487: concerns vnc-served sessions too
Package: kdm Version: 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-6 --- Please enter the report below this line. --- I'd like to confirm this bug too. I've setup the vnc-server with the inetd-option, used per ssh-tunnel on localhost. It is used from windows computers for LaTeX and other stuff. Since the last update this monday the session collapses almost without any trace after the login via kdm succeeded. Tracing this bug is extremely difficult, since the error happens during the termination of the kdm-login. It only leaves unhelpful XInputExtension missing messages in the kdm-log. There is no helpful information on the net about such an error, although there are some other mysterious error reports about the session not starting/crashing after login due to missing extensions, then also connected to GLX, DPMS etc. As for the patch, I suggest that this pointer should never be NULL in the first place, because one can expect it to be read from.Upon initialization it should point to some constant dummy string like somehost or incognito. Perhaps that also the pam-library should check for NULL-pointed char-strings, except if this condition is mentioned and forbidden in the interface documentation. Bug#444284: QLibrary
I think Pattara's QLibrary patch should suit this problem, in case dependency on libthai is frowned upon. With Qt3, it would still require libthai-dev for libthai.so (without SONAME). But that would at least bring kdelibs-libthai interoperation back to previous state, as libthai.la is not required any more. Bug#462391: konqueror:nspluginviewer crashes with Adobe flash plugin 9.0.155

Re: [KDE 3.5.X] Switch between KDE/Gnome
Ok, thanks .. resolved. Just one packet was in testing .. i just downgrade it to stable doing sudo apt-get install libxyz/stable and all went fine doing apt-get install gnome Thanks a lot. 2008/1/24, Xavier Brochard [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hi Isma a écrit : But it seems to me my KDE is in stable version dpkg-query -l | g kde : ii kde-core 5:47 the K Desktop Environment core modules ii kde-i18n-fr 4:3.5.7-1 French (fr) internationalized (i18n) files f (http://packages.debian.org/etch/kde-core) May be But I'm quite sure you have some packages from backport and testing: In short see here http://packages.debian.org/etch/kde-i18n-fr KDE 3.5.5 is in etch, KDE 3.5.7 is in etch-backport And here are your problematic package - libgnome2.0-cil 2.16.0-7 http://packages.debian.org/lenny/libgnome2.0-cil - libart2.0-cil http://packages.debian.org/lenny/libart2.0-cil (libart2.0-cil doesn't exist in etch) My /etc/apt/sources.list (no backports here, is it right ?) right may be packages were installed from downloaded files [snip] By the way, what means -cil ? usualy Command Line Interface this package is related to .NET programs How do I have to do for having only stable deb packages ? I don't know... I would starting with aptitude or synaptic. After an update, they should show you the backport and testing packages as localy installed. Just select and remove them. But beware! you'll have only a command line system after that. You'll need to reinstall a desktop (launch tasksel). Or may be (try it) just starting tasksel in a virtual console (not a console window), and selecting the gnome desktop will do the job. If you are not sure, don't do that! You just need to remove the problematic packages for installing Gnome. Start with this one libgnome2.0-cil 2.16.0-7 and relaunch aptitude regards Xavier Le 23/01/08, Xavier Brochard[EMAIL PROTECTED] a écrit : Hello / Salut this is because you are using a mix of backport packages, testing and etch package. re: kde4 / d-bus problem
So following my previous e-mail I got a little further but not much. D-bus should be fine now, X starts without a problem with Fluxbox but still no KDE4, and I cannot even load one single KDE4 app. Now when I log into KDE (or when I try to start konsole from X) I'm getting those error message in the terminal: Message from [EMAIL PROTECTED] at Thu Jan 24 10:50:59 2008 ...
