Bug#490576: kalarm: Wrong homepage listed in package

2009-02-03 Thread Xavier Vello
I'm obviously not asking for a special kdepim3 upload just for this. But
presumably there could be kdepim3 updates in the future (after lenny
becomes stable), and if so I'd like to see a fix for this bug incorporated
at that point. I don't know enough about Debian's bugfix handling
procedures to know what's the best way to achieve this - I must leave this
 up to you.

The svn packaging for kde3 has the right homepage field, see
http://svn.debian.org:80/viewsvn/pkg-kde/trunk/packages/kdepim/

If a kdepim3 upload were to be made, the fix would be uploaded.

This is a Qt bug already fixed in qt-copy and waiting for future Qt releases
(4.4.4 and 4.5) Look at bug 178718 / bug 174065

You can file a report on the Debian bugtracker to include the patch from
qt-copy in their Qt package.

Thanks

Bug#487178: #487178: kmail: IMAP updates block when connection lost

2009-02-03 Thread Felipe Sateler

 Hi,

I use kmail for years and despite often cutting the imap connections while
roaming (with connection cuts of more than one hour and suspending the
laptop), I could always relaunch the connection to the IMAP servers with
 no loss.

Does this bug still affect you with the latest kmail 4:3.5.9-5 from Lenny ?

Indeed, this bug seems to no longer be present.

Saludos,
Felipe Sateler

Newbie but nevertheless sincere- replacing Xandros GUI on Asus 900a with KDE

2009-02-03 Thread Bill Maher

Hello-

I've been attempting to do the above, but I get error messages regarding
libraries and 1386's.

file:///export/repository/gnusolaris1/ kdelibs trunk gives me:

file:///export/repository/gnusolaris1/dists/kdelibs/trunk/binary-i386/Packages.gz:
 File not found

I also get:

W: Couldn't stat source package list file: kdelibs/trunk Packages
(/var/lib/apt/lists/_export_repository_gnusolaris1_dists_kdelibs_trunk_binary-i386_Packages)
 - stat (2 No such file or directory)

I guess I'm looking for the repository that these i386 packages are in.

None of the how to articles regarding changing the easy desktop GUI work
for me. Those are all written for the eee 701, and I have a 900a. The answer
to this is not on the net.

So if you could point me to these repositories, and any other repositories that
are stable and might have neat things in them, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

for me. Those are all written for the eee 701, and I have a 900a. The
answer to this is not on the net.

So if you could point me to these repositories, and any other repositories
that are stable and might have neat things in them, I'd appreciate it.

First, KDE users mailint list is:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/

Second, what does contain yout /etc/apt/sources.list and what kde (and debian
suite: stable, testing, unstable) do you want to install?

Debian repositories are something like:
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ lenny main

Please, continue in the user's mailing list.

Ana

Bug#514092: kpdf: Find function fails to find a phrase separated by a carriage return

2009-02-03 Thread Arthur Marsh
Package: kpdf
Version: 4:3.5.9-3
Severity: normal

I tried to perform a search on the phrase carrier licence on the
document:

http://telstrawholesale.com/dobusiness/customer-commitment/docs/op_sep_sq_sep08.pdf

and did not find a match. Searching on carrier alone I found:

Operational Separation is implemented as a statutory condition of
Telstra’s carrier
licence, specified in Part 8 of Schedule 1 to the Telecommunications Act
1997. Operational

Shouldn't the text search reduce all white space (spaces, tabs, line
feeds, carriage returns or whatever is legal in PDF) to a single space
for the purpose of finding matching text?

on a new user account you shouldn't have a .kde directory
(or I misunderstood what you said)

purged and reinstalled kde-l10n-de and again (after some
akonadi errors and knotify crashes) the same problem prevails. By default
no language is set in the settings module under personal -
 country/region language (translated from German).

same here, default language setting from kde (generic english) but it works
in french without problem

I'll attach the locales from this users settings.

it looks like a kde problem, but just in case (sorry if it's stupid):
What is the default locale on the system ?
(check the uncommented ones in /etc/locale.gen)
And did you try to install another desktop ?

reportbug reports the following settings:
Locale: lang=de...@euro, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)

I didn't try installing another desktop like gnome.

But, now I just tried resetting my LC_MESSAGES (being default C)
$ LC_MESSAGES=de_DE kwrite
and this gives me a perfect German environment for kwrite.
So I guess that would solve my problem.
Now, am I being unreasonable asking for a consistent useage of languages, or
is it a bug?

can't play any video in dragon player

2009-02-03 Thread Flavio
Hi all,
since i upgraded to kde4.2 (from experimental) i cannot play any video with
dragon player.

I think i installed all the required plugins (my phonon backend is gstreamer):

$ aptitude search ~igstreamer
i A gstreamer0.10-alsa - GStreamer plugin for ALSA
i A gstreamer0.10-plugins-base - GStreamer plugins from the base set
i gstreamer0.10-plugins-good - GStreamer plugins from the good set
iB gstreamer0.10-plugins-really-bad - GStreamer plugins from the bad set
i gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly - GStreamer plugins from the ugly set
i A gstreamer0.10-x - GStreamer plugins for X11 and Pango
i A libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0 - GStreamer libraries from the base set
i A libgstreamer0.10-0 - Core GStreamer libraries and elements
i A phonon-backend-gstreamer - Phonon GStreamer 0.10.x backend
$

before upgrade i was using xine backend.

Am i missing something? Should i return to xine backend?

Using mplayer everything works.

Below i pasted dragon player output, if you need more info, please ask.

Thanks all

I'd advice using de_DE.UTF-8 as default.
