Many instances of gpgsm
Over a single day I can see a large amout of gpgsm and gpg-agent instances running in the background. Today it's 29 + 11 instances: $ ps ax -o cmd | grep gpg | sort | uniq -c 11 gpg-agent --server 29 gpgsm --server They don't seem to do any harm processor and memory wise, but I'm still curious if this hughly varying number of process is intended. I myself don't even use gpg encryption. Can somebody confirm this behaviour? Christoph

Re: Uninstall noatun
I don think that's a bug. If you have a preferred player, it wouldn't be nice that anytime that you install another, it changes. There are many players in GNU/Linux, and many of them are based on KDE. I have around 4 installed, and I use it in different situations. I'm sure that Noatun isn't the better one, but it's the default for the KDE package, maybe because for most people is enough. Anyway, you can ask the developers of KDE for that improvement if you think it would be a good thing, in https://bugs.kde.org . As I wrote before: $ LC_MESSAGES=de_DE kwrite opens a full German session of kwrite, and my system since then is full German now, as I moved away from having LC_MESSAGES set to 'C'. Still not happy with it and I believe it is a bug that KDE cannot decide which language to use. Actually Inkscape (being a Gnome product) since then is German too, so I guess that respecting LC_MESSAGES for menus and stuff is the intended behaviour. I might ask on kde-devel or look for a bug report to bring this to KDE's attention. Christoph

Help appreciated. AFAIK KDE apps still ignore the normal LC_* and LANG settings using the setting in the kdeglobals config file or KDE_LANG variable instead can you try running 'KDE_LANG=de ' for one of the apps that is showing the problem? -- Cheers, Cobaco (aka Bart Cornelis) signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
