Bug#536558: qt4-demos should suggest or recommend qt4-dev-tools?
Package: qt4-demos Version: 4.5.2-1 If I press the Documentation button at any of the demonstrations in qtdemo, it launches /usr/bin/assistant-qt4 which is part of the qt4-dev-tools package. Does that mean qt4-demos should suggest or recommend qt4-dev-tools? Sincerely, Torbjörn Andersson -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#526257: libqtgui4: Possible reliable reproduction with window decorations
Package: libqtgui4 Version: 4.5.1-2 Severity: normal I also get this quite a lot on my system. However, I can reliably get the effects on the window borders with slingshot If I load slingshot, the window decorations are fine. When I move the window around the screen, the decorations (title bar and borders) are completely corrupted, in the same manner as the other corruptions I see with normal qt4 apps. If I hover the mouse over animated decorations (close button, minimise button, etc...) then those elements repaint and look fine. If the focus changes to another window, the decordations are repainted, and all is OK. slingshot is not a qt4 app, but given that the window decorations are painted by kwin, which is, I figured this might be part of the same bug. I am running slingshot-0.8.1-p2 -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libqtgui4 depends on: ii fontconfig 2.6.0-4 generic font configuration library ii libaudio2 1.9.2-1 Network Audio System - shared libr ii libc6 2.9-10GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfontconfig1 2.6.0-4 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.3.9-5 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc11:4.4.0-7 GCC support library ii libglib2.0-0 2.20.3-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libice62:1.0.5-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-14 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libmng11.0.9-1 Multiple-image Network Graphics li ii libpng12-0 1.2.37-1 PNG library - runtime ii libqtcore4 4.5.1-2 Qt 4 core module ii libsm6 2:1.1.0-2 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.4.0-7 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libtiff4 3.8.2-11 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii libx11-6 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library ii libxext6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxrender11:0.9.4-2 X Rendering Extension client libra ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-13 compression library - runtime Versions of packages libqtgui4 recommends: ii qt4-qtconfig 4.5.1-2Qt 4 configuration tool libqtgui4 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Re: debian lenny (current): refusing to install kde

So, before installing kde, I had to remove a lot of apps to make space for Kde downloads. After that, instructed apt to remove gnome and install kde in one go. Now finally I have Kde back, but I have a slight feeling that's not the standard way to install Debian-Kde ;-). I used a non-standard way last time I installed KDE, that was slightly less long-winded: Install without a desktop. Then edit sources.list and: aptitude install KDE Go and do something else for a bit. Check that everything mission-critical is there. If not install.
