With that "Give us some time to fix it" I mean that we may take some time to
fix
it, just to warn you. It wasn't my intention to be rude or something :S Also,
this kind of discussions are useful, in fact if you dindn't raised this problem
I wouldn't be fixing it.

Are you sure? I guess this file includes the showfoto translation...
http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kde4/it/docmessages/extragear-
graphics/showfoto.po?view=log

Anyway, we don't care about po files for translations' docs, what I would
include
in the package would be these dirs (for italian translation):
http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kde4/it/docs/extragear-graphics/digikam/
http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kde4/it/docs/extragear-graphics/showfoto/
which are generated using the po files.

At the moment I have some partial work to include digikam doc translations, my
wish is to include showfoto docs with its translations as well. What I don't
know is how much up to date is the documentation, I'm just packaging what KDE's
svn provides, i.e.:
http://docs.kde.org/development/en/extragear-graphics/digikam/
http://docs.kde.org/development/en/extragear-graphics/showfoto/

I guess you'll have to package/upload Qt 4.6.{0,1} before, don't you?

4.6 is in experimental. I talked to the folks doing the work on it they
definitely get it out there soon.

I hope so. AFAIK 4.6.0 is a prereq. for KDE SC 4.4 and 4.6.1 is preferred
since it fixes at least one critical plasma bug.

Re: Kmail crashes when opening composer

2010-02-09 Thread Florian Jauernig
Hi List,

just for your information - I am glad to inform you, the problem is gone
now! I can open composer without kmail crashing.

I just dist-upgraded again, and upgraded packages were:

<- >8 ->
cups cups-bsd cups-client cups-common cups-ppdc cupsddk cupsys cupsys-common
ffmpeg geoip-database hdparm k3b k3b-data libavcodec52
  libavdevice52 libavfilter1 libavformat52 libavutil50 libcaca0 libcups2
libcups2-dev libcupscgi1 libcupsdriver1 libcupsimage2 libcupsmime1
  libcupsppdc1 libenchant1c2a libgeoip1 libgluezilla libk3b6 libpostproc51
libswscale0 mutt ntpdate radeontool unzip zip

<- 8< ->

No idea which packages were responsible for my problem / fixed my problem,
none of them seems to be related to kmail for a simple user like me, but
anyway, I'm just happy it works again;-)

Greets

Florian

You are right, I never noticed there is showfoto.po and it is still
translated by the previous owner of digikam package. I will ask for
taking control of it for keeping it coherent with the rest of the
program, however its translation is complete.
Thank you for your advice

It is not that simple. Qt 4.6.1 is not the only one required, Phonon 4.4 is as
well. But guess what? Qt 4.6.x ships Phonon 4.3.x and Debian ships Phonon from
Qt since 4.5.2. So much "fun" here indeed...

Sounds like packaging-hell. I wish I could help out with that, but modern
packaging conventions have somewhat lost me. I do a lot of packaging at work,
but mostly simple stuff, nothing even remotely close to kde ;)

Recently I had a peak into the packaging guidelines of kdepim. That alone
sounds like a lot of "fun".

Anyway, please keep up the good work and bring us the best KDE ever. It will
be appreciated!
