That worked for me too ... until I closed kontact and started it up again.
And at other times the columns just re-appear out of the blue.

I guess it's time again to start with a brand new KDE system. Hopefully I can
get Kontact/KMail working with PostgreSQL 10 on my laptop ...

I've forgot something :
Enable the Unread/Total/Size columns, then try to resize Name column, then
close kmail and restart. Disable the Unread/Total/Size columns.
Works for me.

Try to reduce the size of the "Name" header. See screenshots 1 and 2

Yes that adds a "Show Massage Structure" item to the Main Toolbar from where
I can toggle the lower pane on and off.

Many Thanks

Maybe it was there yesterday too, but I just noticed a horizontal scroll bar
while there is no need for that. Looking more closely I see that there is
another column, next to the Name column, which does not have a header and the
area is completely empty. It doesn't look like there is a way to remove it,
like I could with the Unread/Total/Size columns. Trying to manuallly resize
the Name column doesn't work as it looks like it detects its the only column
and so resizes itself back to the old state.

As usual, a picture is worth a 1000 words. See attachment.

The following was posted to debian-qt-kde ML, I assume by accident:

Use Settings, Configure Toolbar,
Move Show Message Structure

Thanks Xavier, but I have the same problem as Martin, but I can't find the
option you suggested. The third menu here is "View" but I can't see any item
that relates to "affichage" which is presumably "Display" in english.

The option is in the "display" or "show" menu (third menu). I don't know the
exact name, but in french it is "affichage"

KDEPIM 17.12: pane that show message structure missing?

2018-04-12 Thread Martin Steigerwald
Hello.

With KDEPIM prior 17.12 I always had a pane that shows the message
structure where I could select which part of the message to view in the
message content display area. So with messages that are both available
as text and HTML I could select which one to view.

This is gone since KDEPIM 17.12 and I found no way to enable it again. I
remember there was an option but I digged through all menus and
configuration options three times without finding it.

Any idea?

Thanks,
