You're still quite lucky. For me the popup doesn't disappear automatically in
about 50% of the cases. Have to move the cursor back and forth and wait a few
seconds in-between to see if the popup will finally disappear.

I accidentally upgraded kdelibs-bin and kdelibs5-data to the wrong version
and haven't got a backup of the old ones. Is there someone out there who
still had the mentioned version of the packages for the amd64 arch?

(snapshot.debian.net doesn't have them)

Where do you set your $LANG ? It must be set before KDE is started to take
effect for KDE. If you set it in yout .bash_profile or .bashrc, it will
only atke effect for shells, resulting in the behaviopur you describe: the
file/dir is created in a shell with an utf-8 locale, and read in KDE with
another locale.

Try setting $LANG using pam_env, or start KDE with startx from an utf-8
console.

Bug: kdm 3.2.92 does not use /etc/X11/Xsession(.d)

2004-08-02 Thread Alex Hermann
Hello,

the new kdm available in experimental uses it's own Xsession file, which
completely bypasses the system's Xsession files in /etc/X11/Xsession.d. As
a result, at least ssh-agent and gpg-agent don't get started anymore. This
used to work with version 3.2.2-1.

Please fix the package to (also) use the files in /etc/X11/Xsession.d.

I installed Sid with KDE 3.1 on a machine Tuesday evening. The bug with
ksysguard was just closed, and I managed to download the newest packages
 from www.debian.org in my /etc/apt/sources.list.

So far so good. I got X running, including the xft font server, some
truetype thingies, defoma, and off course KDE.

Now something strange happens. The desktop icons dissapeared the first
time I opened the KDE Control Centre to alter the look n' feel. When I
select de proper icons (Connectiva Crystal) in the fonts dialog and
press apply, my icons reapear. Then I went on to alter my background
image, and wooops my icons were gone again. After this no way I can get
 them back.

When I do a sort icons on the desktop, the labels of the icons are linup
just under each other, so the system thinks that the icons are not
 there... I guess.

Anyone also experiencing this? Anyone has a solution or a place to look?

 Thanx in advance!
