Re: KDE 3.2.0 Packages
Hi, http://www.kde.org/info/3.2.php but only for debian woody and not unstable, are there unstable packages available or should I try cceney's one? Greetings Alex//

Re: KDE 3.1.2 segfaults
Hi, after upgrading today to kde 3.1.2 all kde-apps segfaults. I cannot use kde at all. Does anybody encounters this too? No problems here. what system you use? Debian Stable, testing or unstable? Intel, Alpha, ...? From what version to 3.1.2 you updated? What deb lines and does KDE self starts? Greetings Alexander Opitz//
Re: KDE 3.1.2 segfaults
Hi Dave, Anyway, ever since I've got Debian I'm using testing and don't have any experiences with current Sid, sorry. If everything worked all right before that upgrade, perhaps you're still using some of the 3.1.1 libs and that could be the reason. I strongly suggest that you update all KDE packages to 3.1.2. If all kde-apps segfault, there's probably something wrong with KDE's core libraries/utilities... Unstable is not like stable/testing for unstable there are not all packages recompiled yet but that makes no problem cause they are binary compatible.
Re: latest kde 3.1.2
Am Mittwoch, 21. Mai 2003 11:17 schrieb Germain CHAZOT: It would be even better if it worked!!! I have tried to update my kde to 3.1.2 but I couldn't install it because of dependencie problems: libqt3-mt conflicts with libqt3c102-mt and both are needed to install kdebase 3.1.2 So I tried to come back to 3.1.1 but even if I change ./latest/Debian ... into ./3.1.1/Debian ... it still installs 3.1.2 but with some parts from 3.1.1. That's crazy. And Kmail is installed version 3.1.1 in a 3.1.2 IMPORTEND!!! Do not MIX debian packages for UNSTABLE with debian packages for TESTING or STABLE. Clean up your sources list for apt. (For unstable it should need libqt3c102-mt and for testing/stable libqt3-mt) And I've run KDE3.1.2 with XFree86 4.3.0 from daniels sources and it works.
Re: Phoenix strangeness
Hi, I'm running Ralf's wonderfull 3.1 woody packages, and so far everything is great, except that when I try to run the phoenix 0.5 binaries downloaded from their site, I get a window that is all white and has file:/ written in it in huge letters... It doesn't look like a problem of KDE. But for help, rename your old ~/.phoenix configuration directorey and start phoenix again.
KDE 3.1 with gcc 3.2?
Hi, are there KDE 3.1 packages compiled with gcc 3.2 and using libfam0c102 ? I know there are packages under people.debian.org/~schepler but they are very old and a little bit unstable. The packages in http://ktown.kde.org/~nolden/kde/unstable/i386/ aren't compiled against libfam0c102 and not with gcc3.2 (??). If there are no packages so I'll compile them from Ralf's sources ... but how I can see which package is compiled with which gcc? (Par example libfam0c102 is compiled against gcc3.2 but libqt3 and libqt3-mt from unstable?) Have someine a fast link about compiling and packaging deb-src's and dep's? Re: KDE 3.1 with gcc 3.2?
Hi, Seriously, I think this is currently a total waste of time. Xfree 4.2.1 and Qt-3.1.1 need to be recompiled and updated in unstable first, then you can recompile KDE earliest. That is also when you can expect it to appear in unstable. hmmm Xfree recompile is only needed for libGLU and the qt3 kde files from schepler also don't need recompiled Xfree. Re: Karolina's KDE 3.1RC5 broke my SDL development.
Hi, play a littlte bit around :-) It works (for me) with package: + libsdl1.2debian-all+arts1.1 (Version 1.2.4-1+arts1.1-1) + libsdl1.2debian (Version 1.2.4-1+arts1.1-1) + libsdl1.2-dev (Version 1.2.4-1) all are in unstable. Have Fun Am Dienstag, 17. Dezember 2002 04:53 schrieb Doug Holland: Apparently, Karolina's KDE3.1RC5 packages came with its own version of SDL, which conflicted with Sid's SDL packages and removed them. Unfortunately, there is no libsdl-dev package that has the SDL headers, so my development work, which requires SDL has ground to a halt. Are there any easy workarounds to this? If I try installing the Sid SDL packages, dselect asks me to remove every KDE3.1 package on my system. Of course, these kinds of issues wouldn't happen if KDE3 was in unstable months ago like it should, but I'm not bitter...
