Re: akonadi duplicates messages

2018-02-20 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

...after observing my inbox for several days it's clearly still a problem
(within some days hundreds of mails got duplicated in my inbox).

Any hints on how to get back to "normal" behaviour? I read an older bug
related to duplicate messages caused by mail filtering - could that still be
an issue? I *have* some filter rules in place, but only for filtering a
handful of folders...

akonadi duplicates messages

2018-02-05 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

...I'm running (almost up-to-date) sid and having an annoying problem (had this
in the past,
but was working before upgrading to latest KDEPIM).

akonadi/kmail "rediscovers" already read messages and shows them as "new",
which results
in duplicate messages in my inbox. This happens continously, so everyday there
will be more
messages und unread state, even if I mark them as read, they'd reappear as new
ones.

I remember there was a command to cleanup akonadi to fix that - but don't
remember what
it was.

Any hint?

Thanks,

Andreas

kmail auto-completion

2016-09-07 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

...since quite a while (after switching to kdepim 5.x I guess), my composer
recipient auto-completion has some minor problems.

When composing a new message and starting to type a recipient name in the
"To:" field, no auto-completion occurs (let's say I type "Mic" to search for my
colleague "Michael" - nothing happens).

*But* if I delete the typed characters again using backspace and re-type the
same string (type BS,BS,BS, M,i,c) in the To: field, auto-completion works over
all my kontact resources ("Michael" is found).

Btw - I only have CardDav/SOGo addressbooks.

Has anyone observed a similar behaviour (and solved it?).

Thanks and regards,

Andy

trouble after upgrading to kdepim/experimental

2016-06-09 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

.here we go - just decided to give it a try and chose the hard way. After
ignoring several proposed solutions from apititude I've chosen one, which
sounded valid to me. After upgrading kmail 5.2.1 comes up, but does not show
any folders (or mails.) anymore. Looks like I missed something (again ;-) ).
Is there a list of "essential packages" that need to be installed for kdepim
to be usable? And what's the expected behavior for the akonadi database -
should there be popping up something like a migration wizard ?!

Thanks and regards,

Andy

P.S.: sorry - I'm currently using outlook from my windows vm ;-)

krunner crashes

2016-06-03 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

...I still experience reproducable krunner/baloo crashes in my current sid
system?!
Is this expected during the transition or might this be another problem?

Specifically, if I hit ALT-F2 to run a application, krunner crashes and cannot
be
opened again using ALT-F2.

If I open the KDE Menu and start typing (search for an application), the
complete
plasmashell crashes and gets restarted.

pulling kdepim experimental?

2016-01-03 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

happy new year to everyone!

I tried to pull kdepim from experimental into my sid installation this
morning, but failed, since installing akonadi-server would remove most of my
kde applications?!

To be honest, I don't really understand the message from aptitude:

 libqt5network5 : Depends: qtbase-abi-5-5-1 which is a virtual package,
provided by:
   - libqt5core5a (5.6.0~beta+dfsg-2) provides qtbase-
abi-5-5-1=5.5.1+dfsg-10, but 5.6.0~beta+dfsg-2 is to be installed.

Is anyone running successfully kdepim from experimental?

Thanks,

Andy

monitor setup broken

2015-11-03 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi all,

...after todays dist-upgrade in sid, my external and my laptop screen have been
mixed up.
Which was not so severe, since I just could select my laptop screen as primary
one and the
panel showed up on the external monitor (which is what I prefer when having two
displays).

But now I'm at home and only have the laptop screen. So I would like to have
the laptop
screen als primary one (in the office I would have chosen the external as
primary one to
get the effective primary screen on the laptop display). But unfortunately
there's only one
choice ("use laptop as primary display"), which is fine, but doesn't work. So I
have no panel
to work with and need to start all applications via krunner.

Does anyone know how to reset things to "normal" - or is this a bug?!

Thanks,

Andy

Konsole bug?

- select or deselect some tabs
- press ALT-o ("OK") - doesn't "press" ok, but inserts an "o" in the search
field

ALT-s / ALT-d / Alt-c shortcuts are working as expected...

Can someone please test, if this is reproducable (and not a local problem on
my system).

No, no, no,no... apt would have uninstalled all those packages - until
yesterday. Then the
situation got way better (from a package-removal-upgrade perspective ;-) ), so
I decided to
give it a try.

akonadiconsole, for example, was *not* removed during the dist-upgrade. But I
think this
only worked, because I still have some packages installed from experimental...

making-friends-with-kontact-again

2014-03-17 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

...during the weekend I came across an interesting post from aaron seigo -
where he's
complaining about kmail problems he suffered from during the last years. He got
rid of them,
by re-initializing his whole kmail/pim/kontact configuration:

http://aseigo.blogspot.de/2014/03/making-friends-with-kontact-again.html

...since I'm hit by a kmail filtering bug (filters duplicate messages, or
messages are received
over and over again), I'm thinking about dropping all configs and doing the
same as Aaron.

Has anybody (successfully) performed such a reconfiguration? If yes, what would
be the best
way to perform this?

Thanks for any hints,

kde sc 4.9.5 - default calendar via akonadi?

2013-03-01 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

...I just upgraded to experimental-snapshots 4.9.5 (thanks for packaging!) and
wonder how I can use my akonadi/SOGo calendar as default calendar. When I try
to create a new event in kontact, I'm only shown the local calendar as target,
but not my preferred sogo calendars.

BTW - akonadi calendar has been set as default-calendar in kontact...

Events from the external sogo calendars are show fine in kontact - so basically
it works ;-)

Has anyone a similar setup where he can create new events directly on a caldav
source?

Thanks,

andy

telepathy in sid...

2012-10-18 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

...I was trying out telepathy yesterday as a replacement for pidgin and
twinkle. But unfortunately some features are missing / don't work - or maybe I
just missed something...

I was wondering if anybody on the list has experience using telepathy in
current sid, especially my problems were:

- yahoo buddies are not imported when configuring a yahoo account
- on irc accounts I can join the channels, but I'm unable to start a private
chat with someone in a channel
- / irc commands don't work
- when configuring a sip account registration works, but the headset-icon is
still disabled and I'm unable to place/receive calls via my sip gateway

Has anybody been successfull using telepathy in KDE and can give me some hints
for the above problems? Or is this just the state in telepathy 0.4 and we have
to wait for future improvements?!

Thanks,

Andy

caldav options in kde 4.7.4

2012-04-17 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi,

...I'm looking for a way to connect my debian kde 4.7.4 / kdepim 4.4.11 to a
sogo server for shared calendars. Using the integrated groupDav plugin did not
work (kontact is showing errors when accessing those calendars, but initial
communication seems to work since I can select the desired calendar from the
folder-list during configuration...).

So I decided to use the calDav plugin from google
(http://code.google.com/p/kcaldav, not maintained anymore). Using the plugin I
can integrate the remote calendars and everything works fine (besides modifying
existing entries...).

*But* when using the the above package (which was built for a ubuntu version)
kontact/korganizer crashes over and over again (multiple times and hour, maybe
related to the synchronisation...).

So is there a good way of using calDav in 4.7.4 without using the problematic
calDav-plugin from google?

Any other method of using remote-calendars from SOGo in kde?

thanks and regards,

Andy

plasma-widget-networkmanagement / openconnect

2011-11-08 Thread Andreas Bourges
Hi everybody,

...I'm looking for the possibility to configure openconnect through the
network-manager plasma widget. According to some posts on the net, openconnect
should be supported in nm09-branch of the plasma-widget:

Note for KDE users: KDE does not support using OpenConnect with version 0.8
of NetworkManager (unless of course you run OpenConnect manually from the
command line and don't use NetworkManager for the VPN at all). It is only
supported since 2011-06-22 with the NetworkManager 0.9, and with the
corresponding nm09 branch of the kde-plasma-networkmanagement widget

However - I'm unable to configure openconnect using an up-to-date sid
installation (openconnect works from cli, though).

ii network-manager 0.9.0-2
ii network-manager-openconnect 0.9.0-2
ii openconnect 3.02-2
ii plasma-widget-networkmanagement 0.9~git2003.1240c6f-1

- the plasma-widget is from nm09 branch (according to the changelog):

* New upstream Git snapshot 1240c6f6f83d6a0502f659c7c49fe6d03ecb917f from
the nm09 branch (0.9.0 rc2)

Any hints or explanations why this does not work?

Thanks,

Andy

Unfortunately, the problem is not caused by xorg.conf. So it must be something

bash# setxkbmap -keycodes 'evdev'

solves the problem and the keyboard works as expected. So I only need to know
where the wrong setting is coming from? Any further Ideas welcome and thanks

That's exactly what I'm talking about. That's what kde does when you
select evdev-driven keyboard. But of course you also need to enable
kde's handling of keyboard layouts to apply this setting.

Hi,

...the update yesterday to 4.3 (btw - great job!) did not solve my problem
(which is was hoping it would do :( ).

Where das KDE store application to icon mappings? I created a new user and the
problem still exists (e.g. okular icon is not shown - neither in krunner nor
when starting okular).

since nearly all packages where updated yesterday, it must be s.th.
configuration specific - systemwide.

Where could I start searching for this misconfiguration?

thanks for *any* hint,

Andy

Re: missing application icons

...and another one:

just installed kvpnc - which has *plenty* of icons coming along, but most (nut
no all?) of the icons within kvpnc are shown as question-marks:

- - connect - question-mark
- - disconnect - question-mark

but:

- - manage profiles: shown
- - new profile (wizard): shown

maybe an icon search path is missing somewhere (where to look for it?).

Icons on my system are distributed in

/usr/share/icons

/usr/share/kde4/apps/app/icons/*

...so for example the missing kvpnc icons are in place:

/usr/share/kde4/apps/kvpnc/icons/locolor/16x16/actions/connecting.png
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kvpnc/icons/locolor/22x22/actions/connecting.png
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kvpnc/icons/locolor/32x32/actions/connecting.png
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kvpnc/icons/hicolor/16x16/actions/connecting.png
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kvpnc/icons/hicolor/22x22/actions/connecting.png
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kvpnc/icons/hicolor/32x32/actions/connecting.png

any hint :) ?

Thanks,

missing application icons

2009-05-14 Thread Andreas Bourges
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

Hi,

...I've got a long-lasting problem here and finally I'm taking care on it.
Ever since the first update to kde 4.1 from the (at that time) unofficial
source, I'm missing some (but not all) of the application icons in kde.

My current system: debian/sid using kde 4.2.2

It's most probably a misconfiguration of my kde system, since for example
okular for sure has an application icon coming along with it...

applications affected (just to name a few):

- - okular
- - gwenview
- - kgpg
...

Other applications (e.g. konqueror, Konsole, kmail, ...) show the correct
icons?! As already mentioned - this is the case since a really long time and I
think it's more an update-though-several-sources-bug than a packaging bug ;-)

My current desktop settings:

- - widget style: oxygen
- - theme: oxygen
- - icon size: 48

Thanks for any hint to trace this...
