Re: akonadi duplicates messages
Hi, ...after observing my inbox for several days it's clearly still a problem (within some days hundreds of mails got duplicated in my inbox). Any hints on how to get back to "normal" behaviour? I read an older bug related to duplicate messages caused by mail filtering - could that still be an issue? I *have* some filter rules in place, but only for filtering a handful of folders... akonadi duplicates messages
Hi, ...I'm running (almost up-to-date) sid and having an annoying problem (had this in the past, but was working before upgrading to latest KDEPIM). akonadi/kmail "rediscovers" already read messages and shows them as "new", which results in duplicate messages in my inbox. This happens continously, so everyday there will be more messages und unread state, even if I mark them as read, they'd reappear as new ones. I remember there was a command to cleanup akonadi to fix that - but don't remember what it was. Any hint? Thanks, Andreas

kmail auto-completion
Hi, ...since quite a while (after switching to kdepim 5.x I guess), my composer recipient auto-completion has some minor problems. When composing a new message and starting to type a recipient name in the "To:" field, no auto-completion occurs (let's say I type "Mic" to search for my colleague "Michael" - nothing happens). *But* if I delete the typed characters again using backspace and re-type the same string (type BS,BS,BS, M,i,c) in the To: field, auto-completion works over all my kontact resources ("Michael" is found). Btw - I only have CardDav/SOGo addressbooks. Has anyone observed a similar behaviour (and solved it?). Thanks and regards, Andy

trouble after upgrading to kdepim/experimental
Hi, .here we go - just decided to give it a try and chose the hard way. After ignoring several proposed solutions from apititude I've chosen one, which sounded valid to me. After upgrading kmail 5.2.1 comes up, but does not show any folders (or mails.) anymore. Looks like I missed something (again ;-) ). Is there a list of "essential packages" that need to be installed for kdepim to be usable? And what's the expected behavior for the akonadi database - should there be popping up something like a migration wizard ?! Thanks and regards, Andy P.S.: sorry - I'm currently using outlook from my windows vm ;-)

Hi, ...I still experience reproducable krunner/baloo crashes in my current sid system?! Is this expected during the transition or might this be another problem? Hi, ...after todays dist-upgrade in sid, I'm missing the the taskmanager and pager?! I fiddled with packages from experimental the last days, so I'm not sure if this is the root cause of the problem :( clicking on the taskmanager symbol in the panel gives the following error: "Error loading QML file: file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.taskmanager/contents/ui/main .qml:26:1: module "org.kde.plasma.private.taskmanager" is not installed" pager results in the following: "Error loading QML file: file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.pager/contents/ui/main.qml:25 :1: module "org.kde.plasma.private.pager" is not installed" Any idea on how to make that working again? pulling kdepim experimental?
Hi, happy new year to everyone! I tried to pull kdepim from experimental into my sid installation this morning, but failed, since installing akonadi-server would remove most of my kde applications?! To be honest, I don't really understand the message from aptitude: libqt5network5 : Depends: qtbase-abi-5-5-1 which is a virtual package, provided by: - libqt5core5a (5.6.0~beta+dfsg-2) provides qtbase- abi-5-5-1=5.5.1+dfsg-10, but 5.6.0~beta+dfsg-2 is to be installed. Is anyone running successfully kdepim from experimental? Thanks, Andy
monitor setup broken
Hi all, ...after todays dist-upgrade in sid, my external and my laptop screen have been mixed up. Which was not so severe, since I just could select my laptop screen as primary one and the panel showed up on the external monitor (which is what I prefer when having two displays). But now I'm at home and only have the laptop screen. So I would like to have the laptop screen als primary one (in the office I would have chosen the external as primary one to get the effective primary screen on the laptop display). But unfortunately there's only one choice ("use laptop as primary display"), which is fine, but doesn't work. So I have no panel to work with and need to start all applications via krunner. Does anyone know how to reset things to "normal" - or is this a bug?! Thanks, Andy

Can someone please test, if this is reproducable (and not a local problem on my system). thanks, Andy

caldav options in kde 4.7.4
Hi, ...I'm looking for a way to connect my debian kde 4.7.4 / kdepim 4.4.11 to a sogo server for shared calendars. Using the integrated groupDav plugin did not work (kontact is showing errors when accessing those calendars, but initial communication seems to work since I can select the desired calendar from the folder-list during configuration...). So I decided to use the calDav plugin from google (http://code.google.com/p/kcaldav, not maintained anymore). Using the plugin I can integrate the remote calendars and everything works fine (besides modifying existing entries...). *But* when using the the above package (which was built for a ubuntu version) kontact/korganizer crashes over and over again (multiple times and hour, maybe related to the synchronisation...). So is there a good way of using calDav in 4.7.4 without using the problematic calDav-plugin from google? According to some posts on the net, openconnect should be supported in nm09-branch of the plasma-widget: Note for KDE users: KDE does not support using OpenConnect with version 0.8 of NetworkManager (unless of course you run OpenConnect manually from the command line and don't use NetworkManager for the VPN at all). It is only supported since 2011-06-22 with the NetworkManager 0.9, and with the corresponding nm09 branch of the kde-plasma-networkmanagement widget However - I'm unable to configure openconnect using an up-to-date sid installation (openconnect works from cli, though). ii network-manager 0.9.0-2 ii network-manager-openconnect 0.9.0-2 ii openconnect 3.02-2 ii plasma-widget-networkmanagement 0.9~git2003.1240c6f-1 - the plasma-widget is from nm09 branch (according to the changelog): * New upstream Git snapshot 1240c6f6f83d6a0502f659c7c49fe6d03ecb917f from the nm09 branch (0.9.0 rc2) Any hints or explanations why this does not work? Re: akonadi-kde-resource-googledata uses wrong mime type?
Hi, But maybe its an other related package like the akonadi-server itself? For me, the downgrade to 1.1.0-1 did the trick. ...downgrade to 1.1.0-1 solved the problem. Does anybody know if there's an upstream bug related to this (or does it work in 4.6.x)? Thanks, andy signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
Re: akonadi-kde-resource-googledata uses wrong mime type?

Re: Nepomuk always indexing at the beginning of every session
Hi, ...I observe the same behaviour. Every morning my Laptop goes nuts after logging in. This takes about 10 minutes, then everything is normal again. I saw the nepomuk process in the process-list, too... Andy On Friday 17 September 2010 10:23:54 Valerio Passini wrote: Hello, I would like to know if Nepomuk is misbehaving and if this is happening only to me. At every new session, nepomuk starts indexing the configured folders, even if no change has been made in them and the database has data inside (i.e. it's possible to do a search and retrieve results). Considering that the indexing process is very heavy on CPU, this is really boring and at least a complete waste of resources. Should I purge the database and start a new one? Is this a design flow? Should I do a bugreport to nepomuk? At the moment I run Sid with the KDE 4.5.1 packages available in the semi-official repository. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
Re: keyboard problems after 4.5.1
Hi, ..thanks for all the hints I received. There was no final solution but I know in which direction to search. Additionally I found something on the web, which is very similar to my problem: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153115 Unfortunately, the problem is not caused by xorg.conf. So it must be something else. I *have* at least a workaround: bash# setxkbmap -keycodes 'evdev' solves the problem and the keyboard works as expected. So I only need to know where the wrong setting is coming from? Any further Ideas welcome and thanks for all the hints! rergards, Andy signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Hi Stephan, ...thanks for the hint - seems to work fine now :-) Andreas On Tuesday 05 August 2008, Stephan Hachinger wrote: Hi Andreas, have you tried completely removing (i.e. renaming, so you can keep it) your .kde4 config directory? I had all kinds of odd errors (couldn't type, ...) before doing that. kmail folder compaction
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi, ...is there a way in KDE 3.5.9 to disable Kmail folder compaction? Most times when I start my laptop, kmail comes up and compacts the folders, which es *very* resource intensive. I've been looking for the knob to turn that off, but wasn't successfull :( Thanks, Andy - -- BOFH excuse #154: You can tune a file system, but you can't tune a fish (from most tunefs man pages) -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAkhQxlwACgkQRrny/uOBVy6/OQCfZaaIahzyviQvMUr062XwGsXG EFkAnRCDeidKV9NLnJI5Z+U1tDe56dGN =WxLZ -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Re: Re: KDE4
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi, ...I've never installed two versions of the same package at the same time and wonder how to do that? I've added experimental to my sources.list - but I'm not sure on how to proceed further on from this point. I certainly want to keep my current kde 3.5.7 untouched and running... any hints on how to install kde4 in parallel?
