I'm using an "Albatron" GForce4-TI4200 AGP Gfx Card.
XServer is XFree86 version 4.2.1-10 from debian unstable.

In the attachment there is my XF86Config-4.

As i noticed, the problem is not only in areas scrolled into view.
it is also in in areas that are shown directly after loading a site.

PS: i can't use the nvidia driver for xfree86 because it hangs the
entire x when kdm starts.

strange font problem

2003-08-27 Thread Christian Welzel
hi!

for some time now i have a strange problem:
look at the picture http://wh9.tu-dresden.de/~gawain/konq/kde_font.png
as you can see the letters are only drawn partially
(look at the left side of the logo). sometimes i cannot
distinguish a m from an n, or an e from an a...

this only seems to happen in parts of the page, that do not
fit onto the screen and are scrolled in by the up/down keys.
when i double click into the window and the window is redrawn,
the font is drawn correctly (sometimes several double clicks
are necessary).

is this a problem of qt or kde or xserver?
im using debian/unstable.

I have removed the normal "new msg"-button from my toolbar
and added that special "new msg to ml"-button at the same
position... if i am in a maillinglist-folder, that will
insert the ml-address into the To: field, in a normal
folder it will function like the "normal" new-msg-button...

Hi!

Currently i try to package kmud version 2 for kde3.1.
the make process goes fine, the packages are build, but
after that lintian complains about the fact, that some
libs define a rpath in them. but i have not found any
reason for that. i used configure --disable-rpath and
configure says "checking for rpath ... no". and not all
libs are affected by this problem, only three of them.

can you give me any hint, where to start the search?
i dont know any further reasons for it...

if you want to have a look yourself you can get kmud here:

there is a simple solution: use /usr/bin/tcpd to limit the accesses to some
mirror sites and force the people to use the mirrors. it should be enough for
everyone to get new files one or two times a day. and it unburdens your

In kmail prefs there is an option to tell kmail that it should look after
new mail every x minutes... i use this option and it works fine.
it's in the options for network/incoming/yourimapserver->edit (or something

Not a solution to your problem, but i use procmail on my server.
Some filterrules in .procmailrc which sort the mails into different
folder files that are accessable through imap... this works very fine
and do not provoke this msg-box.

new shakti.ath.cx mirror structure

2002-11-25 Thread Christian Welzel
Hi people!

At the last weekend we restructured our mirror of karolinas kde-debs.
now we use a patched debmirror-script and it runs as a cronjob,
so the mirror should automagically update every night.
the files should now be available under

deb http://wh9.tu-dresden.de/kde3/karolina ./
deb ftp://wh9.tu-dresden.de/kde3/karolina ./

The old links will still work for some time, but they are now only
symlinks to the new directory. they will be removed in some weeks.

Please update the links on the faq-pages of
http://mypage.bluewin.ch/kde3-debian/ and all others.

the server has a 100MBit connection and is 24/7/365 up.
So please use our server to unburden karolinas home-pc.

I mirrored your site to our server... it has a 100mbit connection :)
but in exchange i removed the previous 3.0.1 mirror from geniussystems.net,
that was there...

the debline is:

deb ftp://wh9.tu-dresden.de/kde3 ./

mirror of kde.geniussystems.net

2002-08-09 Thread Christian Welzel
hi!

yesterday i mirrored the files from above site...
the i386-debs are aptable from here:

deb ftp://wh9.tu-dresden.de/kde3 debian/

ppc-debs should be available here:

deb ftp://wh9.tu-dresden.de/kde3 debian-ppc/

it would be fine, if anybody installs a rsync on kde.geniussystems.net
to ease the mirroring...
