It’s a pleasure to be able to run the latest Plasma on Debian with official
packages. Sid is a great distro for advanced users, and these packages make us
a little happier. Great work!

Great work. Thanks for allowing so many KDE users stay with Debian. I can’t
imagine a better combo. :^)

Bug#979979: kwin: "Show in Activities" item is missing in window menu

2021-01-12 Thread Coque Couto
Source: kwin
Version: 5.20.5-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

The menu entry for moving windows between activities is missing at the menu
which appears by pressing Alt+F3. I'm not sure if this is a debian specific
bug, as it seems to affect a different versions of Kwin on several distros (see
the bug upstream in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422682).

I've tried to find an error in ~/.xsession-errors, but there's nothing.

Ivan Čukić asks if kwin is being compiled without the development headers of
kactivities, but I don't know how to answer.

Thank you for your help. Regards.

If libqt5gui5 needs libqt5xcbqpa5, shouldn't it require it, instead of
recommend it? I don't install recommended packages by default.

Re: E-mail search in KMail

2015-10-02 Thread Coque Couto
Hello.

I see that link was last updated on January, so perhaps it doesn't reflect
current packages. baloo-kf5 replaces baloo4, so I suppose email indexing
should work with it (but it doesn't in my case either).

Perhaps we should file a bug agaisnt baloo-kf5.

Regards.

Re: KDE SC 4.9.5 core packages uploaded to qt-kde-debian.net

Thank you very much, José Manuel. This helps to reduce our anxiety provoked
by Debian's freezes. ;)

 Hello,

 We have uploaded the most important set of packages of KDE SC 4.9.5 to:

 http://qt-kde.debian.net

 (qt-kde2.debian.net is down right now, I'm trying to reach the
 sysadmin[s])

 follow the instructions available there to install the packages. They are
 available both for i386 and amd64.

 We may or may not provide further KDE SC 4.9.5 upgrades there, if we do,
 probably we will write another short announcement mail here.

 We may or may not provide KDE SC 4.10 packages there, if we do, we will
 write
 an announcement mail here.

Re: kmail + kwallet

2012-11-08 Thread Coque Couto
Yes, I've suffered this problem many times, but instead of opening kwallet
to solve it, I kill it.

Regards.

2012/11/8 Frank Mehnert frank.mehn...@gmail.com

 Hi,

 Talking about kwallet bugs:

 since some weeks or even months I have the strange behavior that kmail
 wouldn't start again in the same X session after I terminated it. But
 there is a workaround. The following happens:

 1. start kmail
 2. do some kmail work
 3. terminate kmail
 4. wait some time
 5. start kmail -- the kmail GUI will not come up though there is
definitely a kmail process running
 6. wait for some more time, the GUI will still not appear
 7. click on the kwallet icon, kwallet opens. Click on the (already
open) wallet
 8. the kmail GUI will show up immediately

 Using current Debian/sid. Does anybody else observe this behavior?

 Thanks,

 Frank

  Can anybody reproduce this?

 I tried it and it send the msg without any issues.

Re: Phonon occasionally working

2010-10-01 Thread Coque Couto
Hi.

I don't know if it's the same for Squeeze, but unstable KDE packages
depend on Pulseaudio.

I've suffered the same problem recently. It was due to programs using
ALSA (chrome and VirtualBox) mixed with KDE programs using Pulseaudio.
I soved it by forcing ALSA to use Pulseaudio: put the following in
/etc/asound.conf:

8--
pcm.pulse {
type pulse
}

ctl.pulse {
type pulse
}

pcm.!default {
type pulse
}

ctl.!default {
type pulse
}
-8

Hope this helps.

 What's the backend for Phonon? When you go into System Settings -
 Multimedia, you'll see your Phonon
 settings. IIRC for squeeze (ie KDE 4.4.5) it's on the second tab.

 Thanks for the help. I have one onboard soundcard and I am using the xine
 backend.
