Dear Marco,

Dolphin 20.08.2 ALWAYS crashes when trying to reach the context menu by
a right-click with the mouse somewhere inside Dolphin after my yesterday
update of my Debian/testing "bullseye".

...

So to fix it immediately you can:
- remove dolphin-plugins for now
- grab dolphin-plugins/20.08.2 from unstable
Or you can wait for dolphin-plugins/20.08.2 to migrate to testing which should
happen in the next 24H.

Hi, I can confirm that

apt install -t unstable dolphin-plugins

solves the poblem, so it will be solved when the new dolphin-plugins migrates
to testing.

Hi, you can share the calendar from your group account to your personal

sddm works here with the nvidia driver, but also changes the screen
resolution (uses 1024x768 instead of 1440x900) and is very slow to
start. With kdm the screen resolution is not changed and startup speed
is normal.

Plasma 5 also starts with the 1024x768 resolution. It is working with
the nvidia driver by changing to xrender in the kwinrc file. OpenGL
2.0 is unstable and OpenGL 3.1 is very slow (for example, it takes
about 5 min to show the systemsettings window). I'm also unable so
save the monitor resolution.

BTW, I think that Apper is installed by default now, and it installs

I had a similar problem. I solved it by removing the problematic
connections and creating them again.
In addition, after suspend Network Manager does not work any more and
I need to restart the nm service, but this is a different problem.

This is important! Because if you are using qtcurve window decoration,
after upgrade kwin will crash on session startup, asking for another

Yes, it is working now, thanks! I tried something similar, but I
missed the 'experimental' libpoppler-qt4-dev. It's a feature I was
waiting for a long time. With debian tools and packages it is very
simple to try. I will report here if I have any problem with this
version of the libpoppler.

(I used libtiff4-dev)

I had installed libpopper-qt4-4, but now I'm seeing that no package

using this experimental package.

Hi, I did a clean install directly with the latest kde packages from
qt-kde.debian.net and it is working very well (I think better than
ever)!

The only small problem I had is similar to this
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk2-engines-qtcurve/+bug/414711
QtCurve using different fonts in gtk applications. I solved this
changing the general font in systemsettings.

Thanks

I don't mean to restart kde4, but to do "killall kded4" and then
"kded4", without restarting kde. This solves a similar behaviour in my

I think I know what Adriano means. When you are using Dynamic Word
Wrap, and you have long lines (i.e. paragraphs in latex), then when
you scroll with the mouse, the scroll happens one "paragraph" (line)
at a time. I have some problems with this too, maybe you can report it

I don't have the same problem, but something similar. If I purge pulseaudio, I
don't have sound anymore, no matter what I do with alsa devices or channels. I
don't researched so much, just reinstalled pulseaudio and everything works as

In my case, the problem stays in a lower level that pulse, but it seems that

This is the error in kdm.log

X: main/renderbuffer.c:2067: _mesa_reference_renderbuffer: Assertion `oldRb-
>Magic == 0xaabbccdd' failed.

There is a bug opened, but without solution yet.

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=550992

I will keep searchig. This is not a kde problem.

Thanks!

I tried with gdm.

Now, I did the next
- fresh debian testing base netinstall
- aptitude install kde-standard (only this command)

and I have the same problem. Three weeks ago, I did the same steps with no
problems, so I think it is a 4:4.4.3 packages problem.

Mmm... it seems that kde 4.4.3-1 is now in testing I can't downgrade.

I don't know what to do. I will try another desktop now...

Yes, I voted that bug. The gnome way is to set the http_proxy, etc, system
variables when setting the proxy from control panel. Maybe KDE can do that if
some check box is setted.

Thanks to you.

The old problem using proxies with kopete and kmail. They do not use the
general settings in systemsettings and can't be configured in any other way.

If beep doesn't beep in your PC speaker, maybe the problem is your system
configuration.

Solved, I just create again the akonadi resource in systemsettings... the old
setting was removed in the upgrade.

Just for add a good comment, I'm testing 4.4.3 and it working very good!!
Thanks!!

The only problem I'm having is that kmail is not searching in the full address
list when writing a new message. But i can drag from kaddressbook for now...

Konsole -> settings -> notifications -> bell in current session -> run "beep"

(aptitude install beep)

Is this what you want?

Did you purged amarok and removed amarok config files in ~/.kde?
