Bug#970127: kmail: Kmail depends on libsasl2-modules to send out mails via SMTP

2020-09-12 Thread Helmar Gerloni
Package: kmail
Version: 4:20.04.1-2
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

In my fresh Bullseye installation kmail refuses to send Mails via SMTP.

Trying to send a mail results in the error "Connection to server lost".

~/.xsession-errors says:
org.kde.pim.ksmtp: sasl_client_start failed with: -4 "SASL(-4): no mechanism
available: No worthy mechs found"

"apt install libsasl2-modules" fixes the error (after logging out/in from KDE).

Maybe kmail or an underlying lib should depend on libsasl2-modules.

Triggered by that remark, I did a search for QtWebKit 2.3 and found the

Would that fix the situation of an unmaintained QtWebKit?

I just built qtwebkit-source from Ubuntu and installed libqtwebkit4

Bug#655382: libqt4-dbus has circular Depends on qdbus

I just upgraded my PC from Squeeze (with KDE) to Wheezy and ran into this
problem:

Bug#659155: Hangs when trying to add a new printer

2012-07-24 Thread Helmar Gerloni
Hi all,

I had the same problem today on my fresh Wheezy install: Trying to add a new
printer in KDE's system-config-printer-kde makes the dialog hang forever.

The solution was to add the user to the group lpadmin:

usermod -a -G lpadmin MyUser

I had to logout/login from KDE, then adding a new printer worked fine.

Same solution as for bug #659155. Issue is also discussed in bug #680195.

Regards,Helmar.

Bug#578865: kdebase: KDE4 menu item Suspend to disk/RAM needs pm-utils to work

2010-04-23 Thread Helmar Gerloni
Package: kdebase
Version: 5:55
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

The KDE4 menu items Suspend to disk/Suspend to RAM do only lock the screen
but do not suspend the system when the package pm-utils is missing. When pm-
utils is installed it works fine.
kdebase (or may be kde-minimal or kdebase-workspace?) should depend on or
recommend pm-utils.

python-sip4 (= 4.9-1), python-sip4 ( 4.9-1+~)
