KDE4.3.1 - panel shrinks with each login
Hello People, I've been having a strange problem with kde4.3.1 (and before): Each time I logout/login, the panel (which I have on the left-hand-side of my screen) shrinks a bit. Doesn't matter if I have it set on 'lock widgets' or not. Anyone experienced anything like this? KDE4 - panel takes ages (10+ minutes) to show up
Hello folks, I've got a weird problem, which I can't seem to find a solution for: After starting KDE 4 (startx), the panel (plasma I think it's called?) takes more than 10 minutes to show up. Also, during this time, I see that there are a ton of accesses to the filesystems handled by my automount daemon (eg my cd drives, and my NAS mounts). I have no idea if this is related or not. Shutting down automount prior to starting KDE4 has no impact on the start time. While waiting for plasma, I can start applications I have shortcuts defined for, but that's it. Luckely xterm is one of those, so I can still go ahead and do some work. anyone any idea how i could diagnose/fix this? Kind regards Jan -- He who knows, does not speak. Merging Kopete log directories
Hello folks, I use kopete on multiple stations (since Gaim went Pidgin and changed their way of working..) Now, on gaim, I used to merge the log directories of all my clients using unison. This was doable since gaim stores all log files with the time stamp when that particular conversation was started. Unfortunately, Kopete just stores the date - not the actual time - making merging the two directories as-is impossible (would need to diff each file and merge the changes, a hell of a job) Anyone any idea how I could best tackle this? Hello list, I've recently upgraded to the experimental packages of KDE 3.4, which work pretty fine after some initial glitches. There's a rather huge difference: the graphical shell is still unlocked without a password, but people can't just use that account and login e.g. via ssh without a password. Huuge difference. [KDE 3.2 exp] K-Menu "debian" integration problem
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hey list, Just installed KDE3.2 from experimental - works great except for some glitches here and there (strange location for those greeter plugins, too). Anyway: since installing KDE3.2 my non-kde applications are shown in a toplevel menu "Debian" by themself, instead of being nested in the KDE menu structure. Can I fix this one way or another, or is this a bug in the package? KDE Packagers: Great job! Jan - -- This wasn't just plain terrible, this was fancy terrible.
