Multi-Screen Problems after upgrading jessie -> stretch
Hello folks, I've some trouble with multi-screen setups changing while logged in - ie due to: - a data projector is connected, disconnected or reconnected - a docking station is docked / un-docked In all situations: - xrander lists all screens correctly - System Settings -> Display Monitoring shows the connected devices correctly. - Suspending / uns-uspending has no effect - If switching to a text-console (CTRL+Alt+Fn) the console is shown on all screens correctly. When switching back, the desktop is show for a fraction of a second (buffer?) Problems occurring: - New screens remain black (ie: Plugged in data projector remains black) - Old screens are not detached (ie Desktop occupies non-existing screens, menu bar is missing). - All screens are black, the mouse pointer is shown, only. Misc: - Restarting the xserver helps usually - the current layout is applied correctly - Deleting .local/share/applications/kscreen and the old .kde-kscreen-directory has no effect - Jessie was ok - all problems are regressions after updating to Stretch. Do you have any idea how to fix that ? For the moment, I need to restart my session (Log-In / Log-Out), when giving a talk or the connection to the data projector is lost for a second during a talk. Imho you miss the point completely. There is a rather usual DoS-exploit in Konqueror - and you recommend to use an another IM client. @Jan Torben. It'd be nice, to file a bug report with sec-flag set, try to set up a environment in wich you can reproduce the error easily (i.e. write some proof of concept Java Code if you can) and help some maintainer to solve this. Killfile with knode
Hello, I've some rather annoying problem with knode on my sarge box. I'm following some rather polluted newsgroups and I'm trying to filter some junk. So far so good. I'm able to value posts by CTRL+L, and I'm able to remove posts selected by a given value. However, I'm not able to filter threads. By that, I'm getting all these, don't feed trolls, you are some mindless jerk, etc. mails, as replies to filtered mail. Thus I read through the docs and found out, that I can filter whole threads instead of single posts, by modifying my filter and I did so. But for some reason I don't understand, filtering whole threads doesn't work. No single disappears, when I active the filter - even mails filtered before are still there. What did I do wrong? Strange freezes (timeouts?)
Greetings, I've just upgraded to testing / 3.2.2 (well, I fact, it wasn't a real upgrade, because some depencies went mad - see previous post - and I was forced to install sarge via debain-installer from the scratch) and different KDE applications take longer freezes no. For instance: Save 2 message from Kmail inbox in a mbox. 3.1.4: two seconds 'till a file chooser appears 3.2.2: three minutes 'till a file chosser appears. Or menu-bar freezes for nearly three minutes (till a timeout appears ?) (the window-list is not updated, the menu doesn't pop-up) then - wosh - everything works fine. Can somebody solve the mistery?
