Bug#440336: kasbar: started by right click, but cannot be stopped by similar means
Package: kicker Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6 Severity: normal I tried kasbar by following the upstream documentation [1]. I didn't quite like it and wanted to have it removed from my desktop. However, neither the menu nor the documentation showed how to deactivate it. The workaround was to compare the contents of .kde with my backup. Bug#398549: konqueror: file size view does not work for system:/media/xxx
Package: konqueror Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-1 Severity: normal Opening konqueror, navigating to system:/home/temp, or any other folder, file size view presents 0 B instead of the colored boxes for the different files within that folder. When I access the same folder via it's fstab entry as root and without the 'system:' prefix, ie. /johannes2/temp it works as expected. The same is true for removable media, nfs-shares, or anything else tried under the 'system' or 'Storage Media' folders. It is sufficient to manually delete 'system:' from the location bar in order to achieve the desired behavior (except for shares automatically mounted via pmount). Bug#374979: tapping doesn't work in kde-applications for kde 3.5
Modestas wrote: Ah, it seems you have ksynaptics installed. Remove it because currently ksynaptics is incompatible with a new synaptics driver. This should get previous normal behaviour back. When this bug gets closed, feel free to install ksynaptics again. Thanks, this works! Johannes NB: This is unrelated, but maybe you know how to make KDE _not_ to interpret horizontal/vertical scrolling as 'back' or 'forward' button events? I just can't find the setting for that. (I managed to deactivate it for firefox via about:config, but can't find the appropriate setting for kde and friends.) Bug#374979: tapping doesn't work in kde-applications for kde 3.5
Package: kde Version: 5:47 Severity: normal Hello, I recently upgraded sarge to etch (IBM thinkpad). Suddenly tapping doesn't work any more. I checked control center and it is activated. Now, I realise that tapping works for non-kde applications (eg. firefox, but not konqueror, kate, etc.). Even more funny: it works if I tap on a link in a web page opened by konqueror, but it doesn't work, if I tap on the top menu of konqueror, the task bar or any other kde-application I tried. Tapping works on kdm's login shell. If I create a new user, tapping works for the initial configuration wizard. It doesn't work any more once the wizard is finished. I tried various combinations of options for control centre's touch pad entry, but none seems apt to reactivate 'ordinary' tapping behaviour, ie. tapping on a menue item activates it. I always have to klick on the touch pad's mouse button. Furthermore there are no help pages available for touch pad configuration. Bug#330700: kghostview, kdvi et al fail to collate copies
Package: kghostview Version: 4:3.3.2-2sarge1 Severity: normal We are printing via kprinter and cups on a Kyocera Printer FS-3800, using the ppd from the manufacturer. When the option 'collate' is activated in the printing dialog of 'copies', copies are not collated, but appear as 1+2, 1+2, ..., 3+4, 3+4, ... in duplex printing. If the same postscript file is printed from ggv or by invocing kprinter from the command line, copies are collated correctly, ie. 1+2, 3+4, ..., 1+2, 3+4, ... It seems that kghostview and kdvi ignore or 'overwrite' this option. I'll be glad to provide additional information, if required. Thanks for the help.
