Bug#988596: akonadi-server: bug still exists
Package: akonadi-server Version: 4:20.08.3-3 Followup-For: Bug #988596 Dear Maintainers, after an apt full-upgrade from Buster to Bullseye akonadiserver now has an apparmor profile. That profile seems to prevent it from starting up, as witnessed by DENY messages in the system log. Likely, this happens because I have relocated home dirs: <-->/home/ <--><-->user1 -link-> /somewhere/else/home.user1/ <--><-->user2 -link-> /somewhere/else/home.user2/ <--><-->... and apparmor seems to not consider the link location as allowed via the "@xdg_data_home/akonadi/" rules. For the time being I have set the profile to complain mode but what is the suggested way forward ? Bug#994230: Krusader Version 2.7.2 is showing no details for file transfer anymore
Package: krusader X-Debbugs-Cc: deb...@decotrain.de Version: 2:2.7.2-2 Severity: minor Hello maintainer, this question has already been asked in a Debian forum without any answer. Since Debian 11 (Bullseye) the Krusader version 2.7.2 "Peace of Mind", as well as a new service for notifications in KDE is standard. There is no option for file operations in the notifications and the Krusader does not appear among the applications there either. In Krusader itself there is no option to reactivate the old copy window. This means that important details such as the current transfer speed and remaining copy time are omitted. There is only a basic progress indicator with not details what is happening. How the old copy window can be reactivated or additional informations be shown? Package: gwenview Version: 4:20.12.3-1 Severity: normal Tags: upstream This release started to drop metadata from JPEG files after rotating them. I do believe the following upstream commit is the culprit: https://invent.kde.org/graphics/gwenview/commit/a401e66621bcffbdc75048d9eaded1a5f5a67137 because it "unconditionally" saves JPEGs thereby overwriting them w/o carrying over metadata :( Thanks, Karsten -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-6-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages gwenview depends on: ii kinit 5.78.0-2 ii kio5.78.0-4 ii libc6 2.31-11 ii libcfitsio93.490-3 ii libexiv2-270.27.3-3 ii libgcc-s1 10.2.1-6 ii libjpeg62-turbo1:2.0.6-4 ii libkf5activities5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5baloo5 5.78.0-3 ii libkf5completion5 5.78.0-3 ii libkf5configcore5 5.78.0-4 ii libkf5configgui5 5.78.0-4 ii libkf5configwidgets5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5coreaddons5 5.78.0-4 ii libkf5filemetadata35.78.0-2 ii libkf5i18n55.78.0-2 ii libkf5iconthemes5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5itemmodels5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5itemviews5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5jobwidgets5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5kdcraw5 20.12.0-1 ii libkf5kiocore5 5.78.0-4 ii libkf5kiofilewidgets5 5.78.0-4 ii libkf5kiowidgets5 5.78.0-4 ii libkf5kipi32.0.0 4:20.12.1-1 ii libkf5notifications5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5parts5 5.78.0-3 ii libkf5purpose-bin 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5purpose5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5service-bin 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5service5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5solid5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5widgetsaddons5 5.78.0-2 ii libkf5xmlgui5 5.78.0-2 ii liblcms2-2 2.12~rc1-2 ii libphonon4qt5-44:4.11.1-3 ii libpng16-161.6.37-3 ii libqt5core5a 5.15.2+dfsg-5 ii libqt5dbus55.15.2+dfsg-5 ii libqt5gui5 5.15.2+dfsg-5 ii libqt5printsupport55.15.2+dfsg-5 ii libqt5svg5 5.15.2-2 ii libqt5widgets5 5.15.2+dfsg-5 ii libqt5x11extras5 5.15.2-2 ii libstdc++6 10.2.1-6 ii libtiff5 4.2.0-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.7.0-2 ii perl 5.32.1-3 ii phonon4qt5 4:4.11.1-3 Versions of packages gwenview recommends: pn kamera ii kio-extras 4:20.12.2-1 ii qt5-image-formats-plugins 5.15.2-2 gwenview suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

Bug#962178: WEILANG 24BIT
Some additional curious things. I hear music with an additional (USB) 24 Bit DA-converter that is only active when the additional amplifier is switched on. It has the name WEILANG 24BIT in the screenshot. When i switch it on it is possible to hear music with it using clementine. But it is still greyed out in phonon! So phonon is working somehow random. (In Debian 8 it is working much more stable.)
Bug#926066: Back to the roots?
Hello Debian maintainer, i don't want to criticize you, but there is no progress in this and other bugs like this any more. The problem is that i am still working with Debian 8 (Jessie) on my desktop, because there are fundamental problems in Debian 9 & 10 desktop systems that will prevent to use ist, like a missing sound. It's not a problem to use newer versions of Debian in server systems, because there is no need of a desktop. But when you want to have Multimedia and other features like working with 2 screens then only Debian 8 is working with all features. I think this is not your fault - is it possible that newer Versions after Debian 8 (Jessie) are not as stable as the years before any more? It's like a step back to the roots in the history, where video and sound problems are a nightmare after each upgrade of a system. When you agree, what can be done? Best regards karsten

Bug#926066: Installation of KDE5 immovable
Source: plasma-workspace Version: 4:5.8.6-2.1+deb9u1 Severity: normal Hello, up to KDE 4 it was no problem to configure a complete distribution of Debian on an PC, make an tar.gz of it and deploy this installation to other PC's. This was working very comfortable and stable, saving much effort for installing packages and configuration of the system. Now in KDE 5 this seems not possible any more! In 3 cases after the unpacking i ended in an black empty screen with only the mouse cursor that can be moved on it. Re: Issues Setting Up KDE Development Environment in Stretch
Thanks so much for the good feedback! So I set up a chroot environment using debootstrap for sid. I have then used the tool schroot to access the chroot environment. I am wanting to work on Okular, so after installing all the dependencies for Okular with "sudo apt-get build-dep okular" I used cmake to prepare all the build files. Once that ran successfully, I used make to build Okular. However, when I ran "make test" all of the tests failed except one. I am not sure why this is the case. I have included the output for "make test" in this paste bin: https://pastebin.com/M88cr1X3 I have also included the output for "ctest -R kimgiotest -VV" in this pastebin: https://pastebin.com/CE5Qgxue Thanks On Wed, Feb 28, 2018 at 6:10 AM, Christian Hilberg < hilb...@kernelconcepts.de> wrote: > Am Mittwoch, 28. Issues Setting Up KDE Development Environment in Stretch
Hello everyone, I am trying to set up a development environment for KDE running Stretch. I have been attempting to use the kdesrc-build tool to build okular but each time I run it cmake fails to build the package. When I looked into the cmake log file, I found that cmake fails because okular is requesting a qt config file for a qt version of at least 5.8.0 but my system has only 5.7.1. I looked some more into it and found that an updated version is found in the qtbase5-dev package from the testing repository. Here is my question: How can I set up my system to develop KDE software without messing up my installation of Debian? Thanks in advance

I didn't use KGPG before - so this will be an explanation. Thanks for your support! Karsten

Bug#677736: Big icon spaces in desktop sidebar
Package: plasma-desktop Version: 4:4.7.4-2+b1 Severity: normal Hello, after upgrading from Squeeze i have a problem with the sidebars. I am using a sidebar to add program icons for quickstart into a separate sidebar. This looks normally like smallspace.png. Bug#651950: Bug#651951: libgps20: /usr/bin/plasma-desktop crash at KDE startup while accessing libgps20
thanks for the bugreport - not sure why you've filed it against plasma-desktop and libgps20, though. Well, the segfault appeared to happen when /usr/bin/plasma-desktop attempted to use libpgs.so.20 (or so it appeared to me) so that's why. libgps20 is well tested (assuming one uses only documented interfaces). I'm sure. This is the segfault: plasma-desktop[4271]: segfault at 69006f ip a69bafc2 sp a698f1f0 error 4 in libgps.so.20.0.0[a69aa000+18000] In any case, please provide a full backtrace. http://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace Installing kdebase-workspace-dbg and gpsd-dbg should help. Which package do I need to install to get them ? I've tried but apparently failed to catch those. It looks like KDE's bug #277036 (fixed with the commit 60d13c5) is quite similar; I agree: http://bugs.kde.org/277036 I'll cherrypick the patch, so it can be part of the next kdebase-workspace 4.6.5-x upload (whenever it is, if any before 4.7). Thanks. In the short them, if you need no gps geolocation in Plasma, remove /usr/lib/kde4/plasma-geolocation-gps.so /usr/share/kde4/services/plasma-geolocation-gps.desktop and then relogin. Since apt-file tells me: kdebase-workspace-dbg: /usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/kde4/plasma-geolocation-gps.so plasma-dataengines-workspace: /usr/lib/kde4/plasma-geolocation-gps.so plasma-dataengines-workspace: /usr/share/kde4/services/plasma-geolocation-gps.desktop and I assume you don't suggest I remove the plasma-dataengines-workspace package entirely (as that would remove a host of core KDE packages) I assume you want me to move the above files out of the way. BTW, this file: /usr/share/kde4/services/plasma-geolocation-gps.desktop doesn't exist on my system. However, there does exist a /usr/share/kde4/servicetypes/plasma-geolocationprovider.desktop Just renaming /usr/lib/kde4/plasma-geolocation-gps.so works fine for me. Bug#644173: Kuickshow does not exist any more
Package: kuickshow Severity: wishlist Hello together, i am really a fan of the kuickshow and so i am really sad that it is missing since KDE4 now. Yes, there is Gwenview and i also use Irfanview with wine. But no other picture viewer is so fast and has such easy to use shortcuts for rotate and gamma correction. The kuickshow should come back to Debian and to the world! Please also refer to this bug/wishlist: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdegraphics/+bug/45265 What i cannot understand is why the missing library functions from the imlib cannot be added in the source to the kuickshow statically? For other readers - here is a workaround to get kuickshow installed in Debian Squeeze: Edit /etc/apt/sources.list from deb http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free to deb http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/ lenny main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/ lenny main contrib non-free Only let this two sources activ! Then execute aptitude update aptitude install kuickshow After that undo your changes or use an backup of your sources.list Then again execute aptitude update This works. :-) Regards Karsten -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#609441: Opened additional bugs for each ALSA problem
Hi Lisandro, Seeing your reply in [0], it's seems it's not a phonon problem. Yes - that's saying everyone who has proved this bug, from the ALSA-Team and the father of phonon. But the Debian-Team has pushed it back to phonon. Having pulse libs installed is normal, even if you don't have pulseaudio. Or at least that's what I have in all my sistems and I have sound ;-) Congratulations that you have sound! :-) I only have correct sound on 1 of 6 PC's i have installed Squeeze. And you can read many of similiar problems in the forums of Debian and Ubuntu. So this problem should be fixed ... Where and how is the alsa.conf generated? Seehttp://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Asoundrc and http://alsa.opensrc.org/.asoundrc. That's interesting. But when i rename the alsa.conf to alsa.conf.bak and try to restart ALSA, then ALSA is crying for it: ~$ /etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart Shutting down ALSA...warning: 'alsactl store' failed with error message 'ALSA lib conf.c:3617:(snd_config_update_r) Cannot access file /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf ALSA lib control.c:882:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL hw:1 alsactl: get_controls:552: snd_ctl_open error: No such file or directory'...failed. My experience tells me that you normally don't have an alsa.conf except if you have more than one card or want to do something special. But the people of the Why is the alsa.conf existent after a fresh installation of Squeeze with only onboard-sound? ALSA team are far more experienced than me in this, so believe them if they say the contrary ;-) I have posted the response of the ALSA-Team in the bug report above. Kinds regards, Lisandro. Bug#609441: Opened additional bugs for each ALSA problem
Am 19.02.2011 22:25, schrieb Elimar Riesebieter: Be care ful deleting system files is /usr/share/. Of course - i just renamed it temporary. /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf is installed unpatched as provided from upstream. It is just coming as original deployed from ALSA? Then it is really an (internal) ALSA problem. Besides - my bug at ALSA is still open. I assumed it is created somehow at the installation. When you plugin a new sound hardware (like a webcam with sound), then KDE is automatically doing something with the configuration so you can use it. What part of KDE is activ here - it can't be phonon because it is just an API or not? And there is also the Jack Audio Connection Kit existant. Can it be used to solve this problems here? Must phonon be the standard (default) Sound-API for KDE? Elimar Karsten -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Hi Elimar, Am 06.02.2011 23:36, schrieb Elimar Riesebieter: reassign 609441 phonon thanks i think it is not a good idea to push this bug back to phonon. The standard setup of the sound-system in Squeeze is not working! That is the main problem. I don't know which package is responsible for this configuration? It looks like the X server is crashing, can you therefore please attach the files /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old after reproducing the crash? I haven't seen this happening anymore in a while and was thinking about reporting that just these days. I just now double-checked and, no, it seems gone for me. Usually the mail contents appear as another frame in the top or bottom of the body of the mail. Please, check that the body frame is no minimized. Resolved, but wishlist follows. Yep, that's what happened. I'd say then that the bug is that the message body becomes minimized, and that there is: - No indication of this. What I did have was the resize bars for the folder list/message body and message body/message parts bits of the display mashed together. Which this looked like a somewhat thick divider, it really didn't occur to me that it was a _doubled_ divider. Setting a minimum height for the message body might be a good fix. Clicking on message components (in both the main Kontact/KMail frame, or in a Message frame) failed to open a visible message body. - No apparent way to clear the issue. - The message window remains minimized even after various application and message windows have been created/destroyed multiple times. I sort of bore with this for a few weeks (I _read_ mail in mutt, but use Kontact largely as a calendar/PIM). - There is no control or menu option to make the message body window visible. - There's no obvious indication that there is a message body at all, or that it's been minimized. I'd say the simplest fix would probably be to set some minimal size for the body window, and reset the window to that size if it's ever smaller than same. Peace. Bug#444086: konqueror: Right-click context menus missing on target=blank mailto links
Package: konqueror Version: 4:3.5.7-3 Severity: wishlist When attempting to raise a (usually) right-click context menu on links using target=_new or target=_blank hrefs (to force opening in a new tab/window) or mailto links, the right-click context menu is disabled. Instead, the cursor is modified to a hand + new page mini-icon. This behavior does not appear to be user-defineable, or based on javascript. Following HTML sample reproduces the problem: - save to file - view file in konqueror - right-click the No Menu link - No context menu appears (preference is that context menu appears). - right-click on Menu link - Context menu appears (this is expected behavior). - right-click on No menu mailto link - No context menu appears (preference is that context menu appears). I'd appreciate if Konqueror would *NOT* disable right-click context menus, particularly where web authors explicitly state behavior, as the *user* should be able to specify preferred methods of managing content, not arbitrary site authors. Package: knode Version: 4:2.2.2-14.6 Severity: serious Knode appears to have a problem losing or corrupting user state data in scorefiles and sent message folders. The sent articles mbox is now corrupted and doesn't properly render in either mutt (mutt -Rf file) or knode. Headers from a corrupted article below. I've had a few unclean exit events in the past week or so, ranging from window manager shutdowns or segfaults, to a kernel panic. As I didn't check Knode immediately after either, I'm not sure which if any of these precipitated the failure. Other extant bugs indicate Knode caches data to save on exit, which may result in data loss or corruption. I can provide additional data / files on request. Bug#230491: knode: Wrap long headers in message header area
Package: knode Version: 4:2.2.2-14.6 Severity: wishlist Long headers -- e.g.: long subjects, or lists of many cross-posted groups -- scroll right rather than wrapping in the header area of the message view pane. This behavior should be change to allow wrapping of long headers. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux superego 2.4.23-1-686 #1 Sun Nov 30 20:51:10 EST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US Versions of packages knode depends on: ii kdelibs3 4:2.2.2-13.woody.8 KDE core libraries (runtime files) ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 [libfam0] 2.6.10-6 client library to control the FAM ii libjpeg62 6b-9 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkdenetwork14:2.2.2-14.6 Common libraries needed for KDE ne ii libpng2 1.0.15-4 PNG library, older version - runti ii libqt23:2.3.2-14 Qt GUI Library (runtime version) ii libstdc++2.10-glibc2. 1:2.95.4-19The GNU stdc++ library ii xlibs 4.2.1-12.1 X Window System client libraries ii zlib1g1:1.2.1-3 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information
Bug#230493: knode: Provide advanced functionality in scoring rules
Package: knode Version: 4:2.2.2-14.6 Severity: wishlist The scoring feature in knode is useful but limited. Several scoring conditions which are supported by the scorefile syntax aren't directly supported by the scoring editor dialog. Nor is there an advanced setting to allow scoring by additional headers, or an option to edit the scorefile directly (preferably with versioning and/or a syntax check as failsafes). The scoring dialog / editor should be enhanced to provide these features. It suffers from several other deficiencies which should also be considered. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux superego 2.4.23-1-686 #1 Sun Nov 30 20:51:10 EST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US Versions of packages knode depends on: ii kdelibs3 4:2.2.2-13.woody.8 KDE core libraries (runtime files) ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 [libfam0] 2.6.10-6 client library to control the FAM ii libjpeg62 6b-9 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkdenetwork14:2.2.2-14.6 Common libraries needed for KDE ne ii libpng2 1.0.15-4 PNG library, older version - runti ii libqt23:2.3.2-14 Qt GUI Library (runtime version) ii libstdc++2.10-glibc2. 1:2.95.4-19The GNU stdc++ library ii xlibs 4.2.1-12.1 X Window System client libraries ii zlib1g1:1.2.1-3 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information
