Remote sessions
I'm looking for a way to allow my users to run X apps on another machine than the one they're using. What's the best way to do this? I've tried VNC but it's not what I'm looking for. I don't want desktop sharing. tia __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com
Re: 2 kde questions on general
If you are using kde 3.1, look in KControl|Appearance|Screensavers. There are several fire screensavers. If you are using 3.x or 2.x, run the program xscreensaver-demo to pick some fire screensavers. You'll also need to put a link to xscreensaver in your .kde/Autostart directory. To change shortcuts for programs, right-click on the K Menu and choose Edit, then locate the program you want to assign the shortcut to. --- Wolfgang Mader [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: hello to everyone, sorry for this off-topic questions. i am searching for a programm that puts animated fire, a picture ore something else on my desktop. not in the background but like a screensaver. or perhaps there is a screensaver which is able to do this. an is there a possibility to define shortcuts for programms. e.g.: win + e for the konqueror. happy new year wolfgang -- Follow your instinct It usually takes you home Don't let these words tear you down You see me hanging by the end of the rope I tell you... Re: KDE and Mozilla 1.2
This is the standard Mozilla behavior. It has always acted this way. Just push Ctrl+N for a new window. Only Konq will lauch into a new process if you click its icon with another instance already in the memory. Whether this is desirable or not is another question. --- Anders E. Andersen [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi there.. Sorry if this seems a bit off topic but I'm having rather big difficulties with the new Mozilla1.2 from unstable. Most annoyingly when I click the panel buttons to start one of the components of mozilla and I already have one of the components open then mozilla refuses to open the new component saying the profile is in use. I am using KDE 3.0.4 Is anyone else seeing this? Anders -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Re: umount problems with KDE
I've run into this problem with Zip disks on Debian and have found that it takes about 30 seconds before you want to eject it for the drive not to be busy. On my system, the bug is also present in the CLI and with GNOME as well. --- Paul Cupis [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 On Thursday 14 November 2002 10:59, Emanuele Centurioni wrote: Hi I am using Woody stable distribution and I have found the following problems: if I mount a device (floppy or CDROM) and I access it with Konqueror I am not able to umount the device anymore (of course I tryed to change directory or to close Konqueror before) the message for the floppy is umount: /floppy: device is busy the only way is to end the KDE session and then I am able to umount Is there anyone with the same problem ? This is a known problem. You do not need to quit KDE to unmount the drives, closing all konqueror windows should be enough.
