kdm newbie question

2003-09-30 Thread Michael Knigge
Hi,

is it possible to run kdm without running a local X-Server?

verbose
Some machines should be able to connect my server running kdm. But I
don't want my local server to start Xfree because I don't need it and
I don't like graphical stuff on a server
/verbose

Bye Thanks,

Krusader for 3.1?

2003-03-03 Thread Michael Knigge
Hi all,

anybody seen Krusader for KDE 3.1 as a Deb-Package somewhere
(preferred for woody)?

URL for downloading the source ? I'll build a package then.

It is at http://krusader.sourceforge.net

It is a filemanager similar to mc (midnight commander) but as far i
can see it is still only for kde 3.0 and not 3.1... but maybe I'm
wrong and/or compilation for 3.1 is simple

KMail crashes...

2003-01-30 Thread Michael Knigge
Hi,

I've some problems (very annoying problems!) with Kmail from KDE 3.1
(woody). It stalls if I want to read a really big Mail (8.4 MB, via
IMAP4) and after some klicking here and klicking there it crashes.

Where should I place a bug-report, detailed description and the
backtrace?

Re: 178 days and counting

2002-09-27 Thread Michael Knigge
I've now reinstalled woody/stable and have only stable in
sources.list. I'd
love to install kde3.x if someone can point me to a .deb that will
install it
 on standard woody/stable. Anyone?

deb http://people.debian.org/~schoepf/kde3/woody ./

apt-get update
apt-get install kdebase
apt-get install arts
apt-get install kdelibs
and kdenetwork / kdegraphics / kde-i18n etc .

Guess this is what you want ;-)

Re: kde 3.0.3, compiled for woody

2002-08-22 Thread Michael Knigge
Hi,

in case there are no plans to officially build some debs for woody,
maybe it would make sense to put my debs somewhere for download?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! :)

Hope you have some webspace somewhere to upload.

 Oh, koffice is missing too...

Hmm, I guess some people are very sad now ;- I don't mind that koffice
is missing. I personally need KDE3 because of some really nice/needed
features (like the enhanced IMAP4-Support in Kmail)

I also tried yesterday to compile KDE 3.0.3 under woody, but in
vain... I was too foolish just to build arts...

bla bla ba
dh_install
cp: cannot stat `debian/tmp/usr/lib/mcop/Arts/WavPlayObject.mcopclass'
bla bla bla

Re: KDE 3.0.3 packages uploaded

2002-08-21 Thread Michael Knigge
ditto Ben). The new sources line is:
 deb http://your.mirror.here/pub/kde/stable/3.0.3/Debian ./

Hmmm, does stable mean KDE-stable or Debian-Stable (--
woody-packages ?)
