kdevelop package

2009-01-25 Thread Nick Shaforostoff
The following packages were not installed as a dependency when installing
kdevelop:
kdevplatform-data kdevplatform-bin

Also, I can't open (import) any project because 'Build System' list is empty
and hence 'Next' button is disabled.

A pure SVN version worked fine since couple of weeks ago.

I'm afraid KPackage is maintained no more,
and I suggested removing it from kdeadmin upstream.

What makes KPackage UI better then the one of Adept (or anything else) for you?

apt-cache search
I have it aliased to be 'as ' under root.
alias as='apt-cache search'

plus apt-cache show

there is a command line expression somewhere for that. googlable.

Well, I'm translator myself. A lot of docs bevome obsote with KDE4.

Yes. thank you for the desired features list.

just add recursively these packages to the cmd line:
apt-get -t experimental install kde4 kdewebdev kdetoys kdesdk kdeplasma-addons
kdeutils kdenetwork kdemultimedia kdegames kdegraphics kdeartwork kdeadmin

you'll have a 4 line command before it installs )))

is there are links to the NEW .deb packages for those who can't wait?
for example i sure would like to install debian's qt 4.5 rather than compiling
it myself.

xine sucked in terms of cpu wakeups per second last time i checked.
i would rather like to see gstreamer as default dependency instead.

The name gm...@auxbuss.com is not a valid username.

apt-get install phonon-backend-xine
apt-get purge phonon-backend-gstreamer

the only problem with xine I know is it waking up CPU too often,
but that doesn't matter as long as you are not laptop user.

why not experimental, or even separate temporary repository with betas of KDE?
it really helps to polish software before release.

if you don't want flood in debian bugs tracker,
mention this in red in the announcement of the temporary repository,
but requiring users co compile on their own stops most people from testing
software.
It is not nice in relation to upstream.

Also, it may help to eliminate downstream bugs. For example I'm almost sure that
new Lokalize dependencies won't be set up correctly
and I will have users complaining that the stuff doesn't work.

does this reproducible for you on your both machines?
