the equalizer in amarok should be available with the gstreamer
 backend.

Thank you, that works on Testing.

There's a problem where Amarok/gstreamer stops playing the current track
if you select a different preset on the equaliser. Is this known, or
should I report it as a bug?

Bug#656098: amarok: Crashes on track selection with Xine backend

2012-03-06 Thread Raj Mathur (राज माथुर)
I'm glad to see that the bug has been closed. However, the method
leaves me completely dissatisfied.

I've been using Amarok for about 10 years now. All my CDs, all the
music people have made available for free download: 5000+ tracks,
sorted, labelled, starred. Quality is very variable, so the equaliser
is a must.

music player (lack of equaliser). Have to redo all my sorting,
classification and starring of tracks, another 10 years (if I survive
that long) of work on a new media player.

Sucks. Fscking over long-time users by making it impossible to use the
software without any notice is NOT a good policy for package
maintenance.

Bug#644889: libkldap4: kabcclient hang when adding contact to LDAP address book

2011-10-10 Thread Raj Mathur
Package: libkldap4
Version: 4:4.6.5-1
Severity: normal

When adding a contact to the addressbook using kabcclient, kabcclient
shows the VCARD and then hangs. ps axwww reveals:

12603 pts/5S 0:01 /usr/bin/kabcclient -A -if vcard
12604 ?S 0:00 kdeinit4: kio_ldap [kdeinit] ldap
local:/tmp/ksocket-raju/klauncherwZ4450.slave-socket
local:/tmp/ksocket-raju/kabcclientZ12603.slave-socket

Reading entries from the address book seems to work just fine. This
problem also seems to happen through KMail: add a filter on unknown sender
addresses, let the action be to add the address to the address book.
KMail will hang when it encounters a mail from an unknown sender.

I'm presuming this is an issue in libkladp4, please reassign if
necessary.

Strace and LDAP configuration available on request.

Regards,

Bug#633102: kmail: Auto spell check disabled after upgrade

2011-07-08 Thread Raj Mathur
Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-1
Severity: normal

After upgrade, auto spell checking is not working in the mail composer.
On-the-fly spell-checking gets enabled if I select Settings/Spell Checker
and change anything (that's right: anything), but after a few moments
it gets disabled again. It's off by default and I cannot find any way to
keep it permanently on.

Further, I keep setting my spell check language to English (United
Kingdom) but it keeps getting reset to English.

Argh, apologies: apparently the upgrade disabled auto spell check in the
KDE control centre. Re-enabling that fixes the problem.

Please close this bug.

Bug#531110: lskat: Game terminates with Game was aborted, no points

2010-01-31 Thread Raj Mathur
n Saturday 30 May 2009, Raj Mathur wrote:
 More info:

 1. From what I've seen this happens after another bug: I'm playing
Computer vs Human; Computer starts game and plays first card. The
card is played but it does not display on the game play area, so
Human has to make a guess which card and suit to respond with.
After that the game proceeds normally until the end.

 2. Attaching a screenshot of the end of a Game was aborted game.
As you can see, the display still shows one card to be played in the
Human deck, whereas the game is actually over (for some values of
  over).

It seems you can reliably reproduce this bug. If you select New from
the Game menu while the last card played by the computer is still
moving towards the play area, the new game started will have this
problem. You have to be quick to select New (or press ^N) before the
card moves from the deal area to the play position. You can do this at
any point in the game when the computer is moving.

Current version of lskat is 1.40 on KDE 4.3.4.

Argh, sorry about that. lskat sometimes terminates with no point to
either player with the message Game is aborted. The display is messed
up, and as far as I can tell there also a problem when the aborted game
starts, which is the first card played by the computer doesn't display
in the play area. Please see details and screenshot in second message
