Suspend button (Fn + F3) stops working after enable keyboard layouts in System settings
Hi all. On a fresh Debian testing/unstable + KDE 4.2.4 install, my suspend combo (Fn+F3) was working. Then I enabled keyboard layouts in Systemsettings>Regional&Language, to get back Ctrl+Alt+Backspace behavior. But then I've found some other solution and decided to disabled keyboard layouts. After that, I've noticed that my suspend combo is not working anymore. I can't make it to work again. I've also noticed that on fresh new user account (where keyboard layouts are disabled by default) my suspend combo is working. So it must be something with some config files on my account. Any suggestions where should I look ? Thanks. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Hi, I've found that this bug is related to kdelibs. Jonathan Riddell from Ubuntu team already submitted a patch for this. It eliminates 2 bugs in KDE: 1) Kickoff bug described above 2) Not allowing to show plasma popups over screensaver First bug is already fixed upstream i think, I don't know how about the second bug. Patch is available here: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kubuntu-members/kdelibs/ubuntu/revision/46 Is it possible for Debian QT/KDE developers to apply this patch, or we have to wait for KDE 4.2.3 ? Re: Intel 945GM card and KWin Effects - anyone with good, fast performance ?
Well, I was testing earlier Kubuntu 9.04 on my machine - ( Kernel 2.6.28 + intel 2.6.3 ) and the performance was a lot better i must say. On Debian, even moving or resizing window with desktop effects enabled is slower than on Kubuntu. (but i don't want to use Kubuntu ;) I've heard that kernel 2.6.30 got some improvements for Intel cards and gives a lot better performance with Intel drivers 2.7.0 compare to kernel 2.6.29 with the same drivers. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Re: Ensuring that screen is locked on wakeup + power mgmt in general
Michael Schuerig says: "There are other things regarding Suspend to RAM that I noticed: In the (advanced) Power Management Configuration, the power button is set to trigger the Log out dialog. It does indeed appear, but at the same time I a system message pops up telling me that the system is powered off NOW." This is because acpid (acpi-support) is not yet compatible with Powerdevil. I've found a temporary workaround for this (tested only in KDE 4): just rename /etc/acpi/powerbtn-acpi-support.sh /etc/acpi/events/powerbtn-acpi-support.sh to something like : /etc/acpi/powerbtn-acpi-support.sh.bak /etc/acpi/events/powerbtn-acpi-support.sh.bak -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
