Re: Building quanta
I have also build an unofficial deb package from the Quanta CVS. You can download it from here and try: http://coyote.asoc.euitt.upm.es/mud/debian/quanta_3.0.CVS-1_i386.deb Sergio... #dpkg -i quanta_3.0pr1-1_i386.deb (Reading database ... 38392 files and directories currently installed.) Unpacking quanta (from quanta_3.0pr1-1_i386.deb) ... dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe) dpkg: error processing quanta_3.0pr1-1_i386.deb (--install): short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/bin/quanta') Errors were encountered while processing: quanta_3.0pr1-1_i386.deb can that file be damaged or something ? Re: Building quanta
This is the way I followed to build quanta deb package step by step: Login to the CVS server using this command: 'cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/kde login' (just press ENTER when prompted for password) Checkout the latest alpha Quanta Plus code from the repository. 'cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/kde co quanta' Change into the $QUANTA_SRC/admin directory: 'cd ~/cvs/quanta/admin' And issue the following command: 'cvs update -P -C -d -R -r KDE_3_0_BRANCH' Change into the $QUANTA_SRC directory: 'cd ~/cvs/quanta' or 'cd ..' Execute the CVS makefile: 'make -f Makefile.cvs' Move the quanta directory to something compatible with deb-make 'mv ~/cvs/quanta ~/cvs/quanta-3.0.CVS' From quanta-3.0.CVS directory execute deb-make 'deb-make' Email-Address : [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date used : Fri, 30 Aug 2002 17:41:51 +0200 Maintainer : yourname Package Name: quanta Version : 3.0.CVS Type of Package (S=Single Binary, M=Multi-Binary, L=Library, X=Abort? s/m/l/x (Choose Single Binary) Execute debian/rules with proper flags: 'debian/rules CFLAGS=-mpentium -O3' Finally build the binary deb package: 'fakeroot debian/rules binary' That's all.
