Getting XDMCP to work with wheezy's kdm

I'm logging via XDMCP to my wheezy workstation (kdm-4.8.4) from a squeeze laptop (kdm-4.4.5) via LAN. Sadly, I'm not able to do the same from a wheezy laptop (kdm-4.8.4) on the same LAN: kdm restarts when I get to XDMCP chooser. Could you please include this fix (which I think is related) https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281862 into one of the next upgrades of kdm into wheezy? Being wheezy nearly frozen, should I file a bug report? Would it help getting this fix into debian?
