I'm glad you've found my packages useful! Thanks for the feedback.

You may be interested to know that Tollef Fog Heen filed an ITP [1] for rekall
yesterday (well, Thursday). Rekall looks really cool, and I can't wait to
try it out!

Cheers,

I think that it is unacceptable to require modifying anything in /usr tj
build a package.
Package build scripts should be fixed instead.

I found this to be because it does not support compiling with python 2.3.
Fortunately in debian you can have multiple python versions installed so it
wasn't really a problem, in my case I found I just needed to point the /usr/
python symlink at /usr/python2.2 (of course, you need python 2.2 installed)
instead of 2.3 during the compile of rekall. After it's compiled you can
change the symlink back, it only affects rekall at compile time, not at
runtime.

Getting rekall into Debian

2003-11-20 Thread jedd
 Howdi,

Hot on the heels of konversation (which I've started using since
I found the package - thanks Nate!) .. I saw the announcement
about thekompany releasing rekall under the gpl - does this mean
we'll be getting that into Debian soon too?

I can't get it to compile yet (some serious python errors get
generated late in the make process) so don't even know if it's as
good as it sounds anyway. Anyone played with it, or has an
 intention to package it?

 Cheers,
 Jedd.
