thanks to both. In kde3 this was more easy, but with kde4 it's ok.
This is solved in KDE 4.5. You can modify it as you want even as a
normal user, but after clicking Apply, you are prompted for the root
password.

Probably nothing is wrong, it's just that I don't use it. BTW I'm unable
to find this program (kdesu).

Kdm settings

2010-12-23 Thread Leopold Palomo Avellaneda
Hi,

in kde3, in the settings part there was some parameters that were in gray, and
you can access them using a Administrator button on the window.

In kde4 there are some parameters in gray (kdm, for example) , but no button
to modify it. How can I do it?

Regards,

Leo

KDM settings/screen resolution problems

2001-06-15 Thread Michael Dickey
After a recent KDE update I found that when I rebooted
my computer it would only display 800x600. I spent
some time trying to fix it, and after losing X
altogether and building a new XF86config file, I typed
startx had 1024x768 again. I then switched from
Windowmaker to KDE and things were wonderful. After a
reboot, however when the KDM logon screen came up, I
once again had 800x600. What can I do to fix this?

Michael
