One of the messages in your Outbox contains a message which cannot be sent. (It has a nonexistant transport set) Delete that message and all will be good. I got bitten by this once when I was fiddling with transports and only noticed it the next day. Guess what my mood was then, there were a few important mails in there :-) One possible reason is that you were composing the message, then went configuring Kmail (you removed the transport selected in the message) and then sent the message. It got stuck in the Outbox and is still there. regards, - -- Borut Mrak, [EMAIL PROTECTED] PGP: finger [EMAIL PROTECTED] -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iD8DBQE+zOImRUVvbWYRhIIRAucDAJ0QYW05wTSvamfqJbd/lm5GOwV79QCeIAX/ 8DPXRUgoalfMV38iBmC83g4= =CfXK -END PGP SIGNATURE-

do a sendmail test to determine whether the problem is with kmail or with your service provider sendmail -v [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Sat, 10 May 2003 20:49:45 -0400 (EDT) Antiphon . Re: Kmail won't send?
Seems this was an ISP problem. I couldn't figure out how I could download mails but not send them when kmail only uses the one set of username and password for both and I had the server nomes and port right. It seems my ISP is having random problems accepting mails? Some times it works and sometimes it doesn't. Sorry for bothering anyone
Re: Kmail won't send?
John, No bother. BTW, some ISP's are switching to POP3 before SMTP authintication. This is a non-standardized way to help reduce spamming. Have seen several posts by irritated people regarding this implementation... So, make sure you CHECK mail before trying to send mail. Hope your ISP figures out the problems too. tatah On Thursday 01 February 2001 12:00, John Gay wrote: Seems this was an ISP problem. Kmail won't send?
I'm not sure what happened, but now I can't send mails from kmail anymore :( I'm pretty sure it was working the last time that I had to remove the libqt2 and re-install libqt2.2, because I confirmed subscriptions to several debian mailing lists, but now it hasn't worked for a few days. The strange thing is, when I first removed libqt2 and then did an apt-get install task-kde, I had to re-set the password in kmails config. I can check my mails jsut fine, I just can't send any mails. I'm after setting up my daughters E-Mail address and all the setting in the KDE1 kmail is the same as my setting, with the exception of E-Mail address and password. I'm using SMTP with the server set to mail1.eircom.net and port 25. Incoming mail is a pop account with the same server and port 110. I've got the login and password set properly, or I would not receive mail. I just don't know enough to know why I can't send mails. I have had to resort to using the webmail box to send this. Sorry I didn't include any other relevant info, but I'm not very experienced with setting these things up. Cheers, John Gay
