Yeah, I observed that, too. Did you try the latest CVS version? For
me, it doesn't work in KDE 2.2.2 but in my development version (~1
week old CVS checkout), it works (at least when the windows initially
opens; clicking on 'Crypto' still enlarges the window off-screen).
So, this seems to (mostly) be fixed upstream.

Take out the *. I.e., I have "no proxy for" localhost and micron.com, and
that covers all "sub"-hosts as well.

I'm using it on 1024x768 and half of it is offscreen. Either it is a fixed
location, or - at least it looks like it - it is opened in the bottom left
corner (always!?!) and then resizes to a greater size.
Here, the decorations are mostly on-screen, though.
So, not that bad here but annoying when you have to open it often. That's why
I apreciate the dropdown buttons in 2.2.2. One drawback is that those buttons
only change the values temporarily and new windows to do not get those values
from its parent (e.g. when opening a link in a new window).

I am not sure what the problem is. I am using 1600x1200 and on my
screen it looks centered. Maybe the source is hardcoded for a fixed
location?

Hmm, pity a fix will possibly not be in time for Woody? :-\

Little Konqueror Irritations

2002-02-23 Thread Hugo van der Merwe
Whenever I go to Settings->Configure Konqueror it always pops up the
dialog in the bottom right most corner, *behind* the panel. In fact, it
is so far into the corner, that the window decorations are off the
screen. How can I get this [EMAIL PROTECTED] thing to pop up in a sensible
location?
I don't want to move it each time...

Secondly, the reason I'm using it so much, I have the following in my
"No Proxy for" list:

*.sun.ac.za

It does not seem to be effective though, it is still trying to use the
proxy for e.g. www.sun.ac.za. So I have to continually turn the proxy on
and off, I cannot view sun.ac.za sites and "external" sites at the same
time, a tremendous irritation, really. So is it broken, or am I using it
incorrectly? IP based exclusions probably only work when you type in the
IP address instead of the hostname? And must I type in 146.232.* or
146.232.*.* ?

Please CC me, I am not on this list.

Thanks,
Hugo van der Merwe
