Indeed, I have read the changelogs for both, kppp and ppp first and googled for the problem, but I didn't read the README.Debian. But now, I read it, and found, that everything is like described there: - user is in group dip - /etc/ppp/options: ... auth ... - /etc/ppp/peers/kppp-options: noauth - additionally: /etc/ppp/peers/kppp noauth while there is a single argument in the ppp argument list of the setup for the provider in kppp: call kppp (I read that in a HOWTO) But I testet that noauth or #noauth result the same connection error with a newer ppp version. And again - after downgrading ppp 2.4.3-20050321+1 with ppp_2.4.2+20040428-6_i386.deb kppp connects fine. Do you have any other idea? Maybe bug in kppp?
Hello! I've got little troubles with kppp. Package: kdenetwork Version: 4:3.3.2-2 With versions of ppp up to 2.4.2+20040428-6 kppp worked fine since 9 month. But if I make an update to a more actual sarge version of ppp (up to date is 2.4.3-20050321+1), the connection fails. The kppp Log-Window shows this: ATZ OK ATM1L1 OK ATDT019231777 CONNECT 57600 Status line shows: starting pppd (Maybe not 100% correct, I use the German version) Then the modem hangs up. There are no further details in the logging window available. Starting the connection on the console with pon works fine even with the latest ppp version. The configuration for the provider differs from then standard in the pppd arguments by using call kppp while /etc/ppp/etc/ppp/peers/kppp/peers/kppp looks like this: noauth After downgrading ppp to version 2.4.2+20040428-6, kppp connects fine again. Has anyone an idea? Thanks and Regards Matthias -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
