So that would mean that we could have both background color, for eye care, and trim margin (for eye care too actually): that in Okular 1.5. > > So I opened ~/.config/okularpartrc > > and I deleted the 2 following sections: > > [Dlg Accessibility] which was containing something about background colors > (I should have taken more notes, but I've been confused at some point) > > [Document] which had 2 lines, one mentioning "paper", and another containing > a color. > > And then I reopened the document, which I've closed before the beginning of > the operation, And "voila", trim margin working again. > > I'll add all that to the bug mentioned above. > > Thanks, > Chris > > On Sunday, March 17, 2019 1:31:25 AM CET you wrote: > > Thanks a lot for your answers, > > Seems I've been missing some recommended package, > > or I've done some configuration at some point that is sticking around > > through some config file. > > > > In any case, "it's only me", so no worries. > > > > Thanks again, > > Chris > > > [1] https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186531
Re: Okular Trim Margin (fixed)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186531[1] So I opened ~/.config/okularpartrc and I deleted the 2 following sections: [Dlg Accessibility] which was containing something about background colors (I should have taken more notes, but I've been confused at some point) [Document] which had 2 lines, one mentioning "paper", and another containing a color. And then I reopened the document, which I've closed before the beginning of the operation, And "voila", trim margin working again. I'll add all that to the bug mentioned above. Thanks, Chris On Sunday, March 17, 2019 1:31:25 AM CET you wrote: > Thanks a lot for your answers, > Seems I've been missing some recommended package, > or I've done some configuration at some point that is sticking around > through some config file. > > In any case, "it's only me", so no worries. > > Thanks again, > Chris [1] https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186531
Re: Okular Trim Margin
Thanks a lot for your answers, Seems I've been missing some recommended package, or I've done some configuration at some point that is sticking around through some config file. In any case, "it's only me", so no worries. Thanks again, Chris

That's not what I would expect from "trim margins", but it certainly does something. I note that the effect of "Trim Margins" can be partly negated, visually, if you use "Fit Page" or "Fit Width" for zoom levels. HTH, Shai.

Okular Trim Margin
If I download sample pdf http://www.xmlpdf.com/manualfiles/hello.pdf[1] , open it in Okular and do View > Trim View > Trim Margin, well, nothing happens. I am now using Okular 18.04 from experimental; I'm not ready to downgrade to Okular 17.12 from testing, because that version has too many annoying bugs (maybe mostly related to annotations, that I use a lot); anyway... Anyway, Trim Margin hasn't worked for me for at least 2 years, so it is not something related to 18.04. Actually, I've been induced to think, that it was a property of the documents I was opening... (like, all of them) But a few days ago, it came to my attention that if you do the same manipulation with Qpdfview, with the document hello.pdf from above, the margin trimming thing is working, no issues whatsoever. One possible explanation is that for 2 years or so, I've been consistently missing a key package. Another, is that I'm the only one with a small screen nowadays, and therefore the only one observing that Trimming Margin is not working. Hence my question: is Margin Trimming working alright for you on the above hello.pdf? Thanks, Chris [1] http://www.xmlpdf.com/manualfiles/hello.pdf
