All of my scoring rules are -1000. How far do you have to go to be 0???

btw, I've been monitoring this situation more closely in the past week, and
it's clear that _some_ of the messages from people I have killfiled get
suppressed, but there are still frequent occurrences where posts with
negative scores show up.

This doesn't sound like your problem, but it took me, literally, years
to understand that the input is

VALUE RELATION articlescore (secondrelation secondvalue).

So if you want to kill articles scoring less than 0, you need to enter

0 =

not, as you might expect, =

Hope this might help someone. Despite loving KDE I don't touch knode
because it completely lacks the Do What I Mean factor, but I've had
to get somewhat to grips with it because my love likes GUI newsreaders.

BTW, has knode a killfile o a way to filter the post from selected
 users?

 I can't find it. Thanks.

Knode 0.8.1 has a section in the manual on how to create a filter that
functions as a killfile. I'm not sure if it would work with earlier
versions or not.

Procedure 2.4. Creating a Killfile

Go to Settings-Configure KNode+Reading News+Filters.

Create a new filter below unread, called killfile on. Be sure that Apply
to single articles is set and then click on the Additional tab. Set
score equal to or less than zero (=); then click the OK until you
have exited the dialog.

Open an article whose author should be killed and just type Ctrl+L(or
select, from the Scoring menu, Lower Score for Author). This opens the
Rule Editor (a part of scoring). You can optionally give the rule a
name that matches the author (Kook, for example.) and then, if this is
to be permanent, uncheck the expire automatically box; you'll see that
this rule will change the author's score to minus ten (or the score you
entered); finally, click OK.

Go to the menu item View-Filter-killfile on.

It doesn't work with _any_ versions.

Go to the menu item View-Filter-killfile on.

Yep, that'll immediately hide any _existing_ messages from killfiled
posters. Next time you go to that folder, new messages from that author
still show. It's hopeless.

To filter New messages, copy the Unread filter, and change the Status
from Is Read: False to Is New: True.

I have killfile filters for New, Today, Unread, and All. Works great.

Why on earth would I want to change the status on the Unread filter to New?
There's already a new filter for that.

I have killfile filters for New, Today, Unread, and All. Works great.

I know how it is _supposed_ to work. Hiding posts according to Score,
however, doesn't work.

I have both the Unread and New filters modified to operate on Single
Articles, and include only scores =0, and posts routinely appear with
negative scores. Incidentally, the KNode manual says that Ignoring threads
operates by setting the score to -100 so that the thread can't be seen. That
doesn't work either - ignoring a thread hides it _now_ but any future posts
in the thread will be shown - just like changing the score for an author.
