Re: Xembed (and perhaps flash 9.0.115) support in konqueror, kdebase and kdelibs fixes
Is there a plan to provide updated etch (KDE 3.5.5) packages? related to this bug, atm no. The only bug targeting etch is: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=444214 Just let us know if you want a backport of the patch for Etch. The good news is lubos fixed the issue with the broken administrator mode in kcontrol modules. You can expect it for the next kdelibs/kdebase upload. cheers, Fathi

I cannot estimate the effort for that backport though, but I think if you do not provide a backport, the etch users have the choice between: - using a backlevel flash plugin with known security problems - not using konqueror at all for sites with flash content (which is nowadays almost like not using konqueror at all for web browsing) - upgrade their whole KDE installation to a version from backports.org (which might get the fix sooner or later) Did I miss something here? The good news is lubos fixed the issue with the broken administrator mode in kcontrol modules. commited upstream, i have applied the patches and uploaded the packages. It fixes flash but unfortunately breaks administrator mode in kcontrol modules: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155001 cheers, Fathi

That would be very much welcome. Just drop the patches in debian/patches and build it - it should be quite doable. /Sune -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Here are the two patches extracted from the rpm source packages... http://download.tuxfamily.org/emiscabpo/tmp/kdebase-3.5.8-flash.patch http://download.tuxfamily.org/emiscabpo/tmp/kdelibs-3.5.8-new-flash.patch I still have to compile the new debian package. Perhaps I'm posting the patches if someone wants to try them. Yes, as I said in my first message of this thread, these patches are the ones that the Fedora guys have adapted to their kdebase and kdelibs 3.5.8 packages taking Luboš Luňák commit... 2007/12/21, André Wöbbeking [EMAIL PROTECTED]: On Friday 21 December 2007, Sune Vuorela wrote: On 2007-12-21, emisca [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: How about pushing those fixes and ehnancement to sid packages?
