After X restarting you have to do it again. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but the X bug also affects Win+Tab (walk through desktops) in the same way. The short term fix for this appears to be thus: xmodmap -e 'clear mod4' -e 'add mod4 = Super_L' I should note that the patch at [1] does fix the Alt+Tab issue (for me, after restarting X of course), but not the Win+Tab issue. After X restarting you have to do it again. Of course, I will try to insert this somehow into my .Xmodmap (have already forgotten the syntax, but this shouldn't be so difficult). Thanks again, also to Marcus and Tim Müller, Bernd
Re: alt+tab problem
Hi, instead of downgrading (see mail of Tim Mueller) you also could execute xmodmap -e 'clear mod1' -e 'add mod1 = Alt_L' on the console. This is not permanently. After X restarting you have to do it again. Tim Am Donnerstag, 24. It seems to be an xlibs bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=255192 Reverting to xlibs_4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 [1] and restarting the X server seems to get rid of the problem. IMHO its pretty annoying. I'm pretty sure this is a bug, but I'm not sure when exactly it started. It doesn't happen always, so I guess it's some strange and hard to find bug.
