  hi, I'm assigning this bug to gs-gpl since there seems to be some
  trouble there.

  gs-gpl version: 8.01-5
  e9.pdf md5sum:  3b14e920485a808af59fcdd8f5c75e20 

  observed behavior:

- correctly displays page #1 when invoked like `gs-gpl e9.pdf`
- segfaults and dumps core when invoked `gs-gpl -sDEVICE=x11alpha e9.pdf`

  also observed:

- gs-esp 7.07.1-9 does not segfault in either case.

kghostview crashes

Can anyone help me out with the problem of kghostview crashing.  I've just
reinstalled everything to do with gs from woody but it keeps giving me a
SIGSEGV and the backtrace shows that it's openFile() that's the problem.
It's strange because gv works fine.
