Bug#442419: linux-image-2.6.22-2-686: Belkin F5D7050 v.4002 wireless USB adapter fails to communicate.

2007-09-15 Thread David Keegan
Package: linux-image-2.6.22-2-686
Version: 2.6.22-4
Severity: normal

When the device is plugged in the zd1211rw driver loads
automatically without errors in dmesg or /var/log/messages
and I can see details of the wireless router using iwconfig
and iwlist scan. However attempts to ping the router fail
with "No route to host". Ifconfig output indicates frame
errors receiving packets and some errors sending packets.

Adapter works fine from WinXp box to same wireless router,
so hardware should be ok.

On plugging the USB wireless adapter dmesg:

Proprietary module and forced module. Please recheck without this. We
don't support kernels in this state.

Bug#442407: linux-image-2.6.22-2-vserver-686: Hard locks with dazuko 2.3.3 and oops with nvidia-kernel-source 100.14.11

2007-09-15 Thread Amit Gurdasani
Package: linux-image-2.6.22-2-vserver-686
Version: 2.6.22-4
Severity: important

When dazuko (http://www.dazuko.de/) 2.3.3 is installed (configure options
below) and a dazuko client (such as Avira AntiVir, http://www.free-av.de/)
starts, the system immediately hardlocks.

Dazuko configure options:

./configure --enable-syscalls --disable-chroot-support
--mapfile=/boot/System.map-2.6.22-2-vserver-686
--kernelsrcdir=/usr/src/linux-source-2.6.22

(Built against the source package linux-source-2.6.22, with configuration
/boot/config-2.6.22-2-vserver-686 and prepared using
make EXTRAVERSION=-2-vserver-686 scripts prepare)

Also, with the nvidia kernel driver (built using
m-a auto-install -l 2.6.22-2-vserver-686 nvidia), I get a kernel oops when
X is started (and X of course dies with a segmentation fault).

Bug#442333: initramfs ignores ide lernel cmd line parameters

2007-09-15 Thread sylvain
Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.90a

Some kernel command line parameter, like ide=nodma, for example, are
ignored by the ramdisk's script.

When booting from Compact flas, for example, the ide=nodma on the kernel
command line is useless, since ide modules loaded from ramdisk scripts
ignores them.

Some guys from LinuxFromScratch discussed the problem here :
http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/ticket/2023

and they provided a patch here :
http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/attachment/ticket/2023/initramfs-add-ide-options.patch
