Thanks!
=> very likely #775178 could be merged with #774461

Don't have the time to test this now and will wait for the security
update. (downgraded to 3.2.63-2+deb7u2 for now now)

Greetings,

Bug#775178: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64: regression: suspend/resume not working after update (again)

2015-01-13 Thread Gianluca Bonetti
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.65-1
Followup-For: Bug #775178

Dear Maintainer,

I confirm the regression of linux kernel 3.2.65-1
The previous kernel, version 3.2.63-2+deb7u2 from wheezy-backports,
run always fine.
After upgrading from backports 3.2.63-2+deb7u2 to official 3.2.65-1,
my notebook freezes every time it comes back from suspend.
This also caused some minor data corruption.
Reverting back to backports 3.2.63-2+deb7u2 fixes the bug!

I can reproduce this bug EVERY TIME.
It only takes to put in suspend, then resume.
The PC freezes and does not respond to ping on network.

This is a portion of my /var/log/syslog
I put the notebook in suspend at 04:03 am and resumed at 10:32 am
No signal that it has come back to resume at 10:32, but I did so.
Then I had to reboot the system.

Bug#775314: /lib/modules/3.16.0-4-686-pae/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/iwlegacy/iwl3945.ko: iwl3945: Microcode SW error detected.

2015-01-13 Thread Ilario Gelmetti
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.16.7-ckt2-1
Severity: normal
File:
/lib/modules/3.16.0-4-686-pae/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/iwlegacy/iwl3945.ko

Dear Maintainers,
using a Toshiba Satellite A100-095 laptop I noticed a very bad wireless
connection behavior, even after installing firmware-iwlwifi package and
firmware-linux-nonfree package. The kernel module in use is iwl3945 and
the card is:
05:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless
3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection [8086:4222] (rev 02)
Subsystem: Intel Corporation Device [8086:1041]
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 45
Memory at f080 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: [c8] Power Management version 2
Capabilities: [d0] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+
Capabilities: [e0] Express Legacy Endpoint, MSI 00
Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting

the connection is ofter reset with this message in dmesg showing no
error messages:
ieee80211 phy0: wlan0: No probe response from AP aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff after
500ms, disconnecting.

but sometimes there are in dmesg also some real error:
