Bug#811198: linux: d-i package list: Please add 9p-modules

2016-01-16 Thread Guilhem Moulin
Source: linux
Version: 4.3.0-1-amd64
Severity: wishlist
Tags: d-i

Hi there,

9p remote filesystem modules are currently not packaged by the d-i
4.3.0-1 kernel. It would be useful to provide a package with these
modules, since one would then be able to use 9pvirtio devices to test
installation setups under QEMU using Filesystem Passthrough [0] to avoid
the creation of an ISO image. (Virtio modules are already available in
d-i.)

The following 9p* modules can be found in the regular kernel:

9pnet
9pnet-rdma
9pnet-virtio
9p

Please package 9p-modules-*-di. I suppose it could be useful to add all
the above module to that package, even though only 9pnet-virtio, 9p and
its dependencies 9pnet and fscache are required 9pvirtio.

Thanks,
Cheers,

Bug#808916: WARN in drm_atomic_check_only() during boot, Intel GM965 (gen4)

2016-01-16 Thread Ronny Standtke
I can now definitely confirm that this is a regression in linux 4.3. I
just tested with linux 4.2.6 and everything works fine, even though I
also see the log message about intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler.

Any hope to get this fixed in 4.3 or do we have to wait for 4.4
(including linux-tools, etc.) to hit debian and the backports?

Cheers

Ronny

In addition to the already mentioned trace I also see the following

I can confirm this problem on a Dell Latitude E5500. After booting up
all I can see are some left-scrolling remains of the text console. I can
switch to a text vt which then works normally but would really prefer to
have a working graphical desktop.

Here is some info about the PCI devices in the Dell Latitude E5500:
