All the machines freeze when reading e-mails, searching things online, reading PDF, lauching PHP Storm, etc ... All the machines are from Dell (tested on Dell 990 and Dell 9010). They are all equiped with a SSD disk. Updating to linux-image-4.4.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 seems to resolve the issue. Bug#820414: linux-image-4.4.0-1-amd64: Soundcards using ICE1712 chipset are not working; CONFIG_SND_ICE1712 is not set

Bug#819881: radeon_fence_ref BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference
I visited the Debian CDs/DVDs archive and picked Jessie 8.3 from there. Probably the easiest and fastest solution for me. Rock solid again.
Bug#820422: linux-image-amd64: Suspend not working on lid close
Package: linux-image-amd64 Version: 4.4+71 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I installed Debian testing on my 5 year old HP laptop. I did a minimal installation using the net install iso, then upgraded to testing, and installed GNOME desktop. Everything works fine except suspending on lid close. When I close the lid, the system is still working and becomes very hot. However, I am able to suspend the system from the GNOME menu. I also tried Ubuntu 16.04 which ships with kernel 4.4, and it has the same problem. Kernel 4.2 works just fine with suspend on this machine, as is the case of Ubuntu 15.10. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.4.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages linux-image-amd64 depends on: ii linux-image-4.4.0-1-amd64 4.4.6-1 linux-image-amd64 recommends no packages. linux-image-amd64 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#820182: Debian Bug #820182 (freeze when scrolling)
I have the same problem on a system with RADEON HD 6450 graphics card; on my second computer with NVIDIA Geforce all is running flawless. Probably the issue is due to the RADEON module.
