Yes. But I think that should be resolved in the next daily build.

Bug#856382:

2017-02-28 Thread Raymond Burkholder
In installing today’s (2016/02/28) netbook.tar.gz:

https://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/amd64/daily/netboot/netboot.tar.gz

And installing manually via pxeboot, in the console I see:

scsi_mod: disagrees about version of symbol module_layout.

Is this related?

Sorry about this. I didn't see anything that would cause an ABI bump
but I also forgot to add the ABI reference from the previous build so
this wasn't automatically verified.

Package: src:linux
Version: 4.9.13-1
Severity: important
File: /boot/vmlinuz-4.9.0-2-amd64

Hi!

After installation of 4.9.13-1 and rebooting, external kernel modules
fail to load:

[ 40.801423] vboxdrv: disagrees about version of symbol module_layout
[ 44.170949] nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol module_layout
[ 44.824807] nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol module_layout

[ 46.070232] nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol module_layout
[ 46.683785] nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol module_layout

After removing and reinstalling them via dkms the error is gone.
It seems 4.9.13-1 is not as ABI-compatible as it should be.

Grüße,
Sven.

Package: nfs-common
Version: 1:1.1.3-1
Severity: important

Upgrading nfs-common 1:1.1.3-1 broke my NFS client.

The NFS server is running etch and nothing was changed. After upgrading
the client to 1:1.1.3-1 access to my files (/home is NFS-mounted) is
disallowed where it should be allowed (and certainly was in 1:1.1.2-6).

After upgrade the client behaves like this:

moffe@sif:~# cat .xsession > /dev/null
moffe@sif:~# cat .xsession-errors > /dev/null
cat: .xsession-errors: Permission denied
moffe@sif:~# ls -l .xsession*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 moffe users   474 17 apr  2007 .xsession
-rw--- 1 moffe users 52975 30 jul 12:39 .xsession-errors
moffe@sif:~# ls .kde4
ls: cannot open directory .kde4: Permission denied
moffe@sif:~# ls -ld .kde4
drwx-- 6 moffe users 4096 Jul 16 12:57 .kde4
moffe@sif:~# touch test
touch: cannot touch `test': Permission denied
moffe@sif:~# ls -ld .
drwxr-xr-x 92 moffe users 4096 Jul 30 12:09 .

Downgrading back to 1.1.2-6 and unmounting+mounting /home and access to
the mentioned files/directories is allowed as usual.

Nothing was as mentioned changed on the server, which is running
1.0.10-6+etch.1 and exporting /home like this:

/home *.msconsult.dk(rw,no_root_squash,sync,no_subtree_check)

I am not using kerberos or anything beside simple uid-synchronisation:

moffe@gere:~# id
uid=1001(moffe) gid=100(users) grupper=20(dialout),100(users),1005(msc)
moffe@sif:~# id
uid=1001(moffe) gid=100(users)
grupper=20(dialout),24(cdrom),25(floppy),29(audio),44(video),46(plugdev),100(users),1005(msc)

/home is mounted on the server with acl activated, though no acl's have
been set for my home directory. Using acl or noacl as an argument to
mount does not change behaviour:

/dev/md2 /home ext3 acl 0 3

moffe@gere:~# getfacl .
# file: .
# owner: moffe
# group: users
user::rwx
group::r-x
other::r-x

I am a bit baffled. I cannot find anything in the changelog or manpages
pointing at requirements for me to change behaviour so I assume this is
a bug in nfs-common.

I'll gladly provide any information that might be useful.

Regards
/Rasmus

Package: nfs-common
Version: 1:1.1.3-1
Severity: important

After upgrading from nfs-common 1:1.1.2-6 to 1:1.1.3-1, some nfs-mounted
filesystems became almost unusable.

The basic symptom was that it acted as if I was a different user: I
could not access my files unless they were world-readable.

So for instance, if I have a file ".env.tamagawa" in my home dir:

   $ ls -l ~/.env.tamagawa
   -rw-rw 1 miles 5523 2008-05-26 11:21 /home/soft1/miles/.env.tamagawa

I'd get permission denied errors:

   $ cat ~/.env.tamagawa
   cat: /home/soft1/miles/.env.tamagawa: Permission denied

even though I am the file owner:

   $ id
   uid=31295(miles) gid=10273(cmp)
groups=20(dialout),24(cdrom),29(audio),46(plugdev),112(fuse),126(vboxusers),10105(ul-tool),10125(ul-soft),10273(cmp),10512(lang),10514(prof),10570(sapphire),31295(miles)

I could also not chmod the file, getting permission denied errors.

Downgrading back to nfs-common 1:1.1.2-6, and remounting the
filesystem solved the problems.

I'm not exactly sure what info you need, but it's a sun NFS server,
using the following mount options:

   HOST:FS on /home/soft1 type nfs
(rw,noatime,nfsvers=3,tcp,rsize=4096,wsize=4096,intr,addr=10.30.129.164)

Thanks,

-Miles
