I can't find my nova-t usb2 but from what I remember theses strings are
fine. Nothing wrong there.

As said, I can't find my device so can't test that it's fixing the issue.

The issue is in the dvb-usb stuff and the WinTV MiniStick doesn't use
it from what I can see.

Please test whether the attached patches fix this.  Instructions for
building a patched kernel can be found at:
https://kernel-handbook.alioth.debian.org/ch-common-tasks.html#s-common-official

You need to provide the patches in this order:

media-dvb-usb-don-t-use-stack-for-firmware-load.patch
media-dvb-usb-don-t-use-stack-for-reset-either.patch

Bug#853894: similar issue with hauppauge WinTV nova-t-usb2

2017-03-01 Thread Barry Fishman
I'm not sure if this should be filed as a separate bug, but with the
4.9 kernel update the WinTV Aero-M (Hauppauge) TV card also stopped
working.

Trying the unstable vmlinux-4.9.0-2-amd64 kernel on a otherwise up to
date Stretch system, the attached journal log was produced when the usb
card was plugged in the system.

Bug#856505: No sound in Raspberry Pi 2, missing module?

2017-03-01 Thread eHenry Berg
Package: linux-image-4.9.0-2-armmp-lpae
Version: 4.9.0-2

My Raspberry Pi 2 does not give any sound from the 3.5 mm jack.

# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ftp.fi.debian.org/debian sid main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.fi.debian.org/debian sid main contrib non-free

# ls /proc/asound
ls: cannot access '/proc/asound': No such file or directory
# modprobe snd-bcm2835
modprobe: FATAL: Module snd-bcm2835 not found in directory
/lib/modules/4.9.0-2-armmp-lpae

In Rasbian configuration:
https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/blob/rpi-4.9.y/arch/arm/configs/bcm2709_defconfig
CONFIG_SND_BCM2835=m

In Debian configuration:
/boot/config-4.9.0-2-armmp-lpae
I do not have "CONFIG_SND_BCM2835=m".

I think the sound does not work for me because the module snd-bcm2835
does not exist.
Can you configure kernel version 4.10 to include snd-bcm2835 as a
module, when it comes to sid.

Best Regards,
Evald

I retried with the images from March 1st, which should include
4.9.13-1 according to
https://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/armhf/20170301-00:17/build_hd-media.log

I still have no keyboard in d-i.

'reopen' may be inappropriate when a bug has been closed with a version;
all fixed versions will be cleared, and you may need to re-add them.
Bug reopened
No longer marked as fixed in versions linux/4.9.13-1.

The installer now seems to include all the USB drivers for this
platform, and all the HID drivers we build. So I'm puzzled as to what
might be missing.

Do you have a serial console that could be used to debug this further?

Ben.

No, I don't currently have the right connectors needed to get that
going. Hm.
