Bug#864529: and RX550

2017-07-28 Thread Stefan Potyra
Package: firmware-amd-graphics
Version: 20161130-3
Followup-For: Bug #864529

Hi,

thanks for maintaining the kernel and firmware!

looks like you'll also need the following files for RX550 (polaris 12 based):

polaris12_ce.bin
polaris12_mc.bin
polaris12_me.bin
polaris12_mec2.bin
polaris12_mec.bin
polaris12_pfp.bin
polaris12_rlc.bin
polaris12_sdma1.bin
polaris12_sdma.bin
polaris12_smc.bin
polaris12_uvd.bin
polaris12_vce.bin

With these files, the RX550 works without hassle.

P.S.: For the record:

Bug#869613: libreoffice write crashes (Debian 9)

2017-07-28 Thread Aaron Valdes
Thanks Ben,

I re-installed the libreoffice-gtk2 package.
I have disabled Java Runtime Environment.

Steps to disable Java in libreoffice.

1. Launch libreoffice
2. Tools -> Options -> Advanced
3. Uncheck "Use a Java runtime environment"

I got lowriter (libreoffice-writer) to launch. (As you stated it would.)

I wanted to add these steps to the bug report just for journaling.

Nothing wrong with that right?

Aaron

AFAICS the problem is that request_firmware_nowait() does not wait for
the firmware to show up and returns 0 even if the file is not there, so
the code to load the fallback file will never be reached.

I have reported this upstream now.
