All,

The current Ath3K firmware is failing to load on IMC Networks Atheros
AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter's This is relatively old hardware 5+
years. I tested the hardware with Ubuntu 16.04 and it works.

usb 1-1.1: firmware: failed to load ar3k/AthrBT_0x01020200.dfu (-2)
Bluetooth: Loading patch file failed

I'm not sure where to submit bugs so I hope this works.

Package: src:linux
Version: 3.10.5-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

This afternoon I installed the linux-image-3.10-2-amd64 package on my
old HP dc5800 small form factor desktop running Debian testing.

As you can see from the attached dmesg output, the 3.10 kernel freezes
for about 10 minutes at a specific point during the boot process. The
computer does not respond to any key strokes during this time. The long
but temporary freeze is completely reproducible; it happens on every
boot/reboot at exactly the same place. Once the kernel has booted the
kernel seems to work fine.

For comparison, I have also attached the dmesg output obtained using the
kernel from linux-image-3.9-1-amd64, which does not freeze.

I'd be happy to try to help you track this down given detailed
instructions, but please note that my technical knowledge is limited.

Thanks for your help.

Matthew

Hello Maintainer,

Using a laptop with an intel 8260 wifi chip (HP Zbook 15 G3) and linux kernel
4.8, wifi does not work.
This is a known problem; see https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/51271

It looks like the answer is that the debian package does not contain the latest
fixes.

I can fix the problem by following the directions in the website link given
above:
- copy / move /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-8000C-22.ucode, and the kernel will then
use /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-8000C-21.ucode, which works.

I just upgraded to the backported package... the same file was installed
(iwlwifi-8000C-22.ucode), and after rebooting I do not have any problems
anymore.

Cheers,
Jon

I thinks this one can be merged with #898814. Can you confirm those are
the same symptoms as described in #898814?

Bug#906587: linux-image-4.17.0-3-amd64: Long delay before desktop loads

2018-08-18 Thread Frank McCormick
Package: src:linux
Version: 4.17.15-1
Severity: normal

This kernel has the same problem as the last three on my machine. There is a
long (upwards of 2 mins) before desktop loads from lightdm. I am told the
problem has to do with a randomizer function as moving the mouse actively
during the wait will end it.

The security-master -> ftp-master sync happens for all uploads that went
via a policy queue (usually embargoed). It doesn't happen for uploads
that do not go via a policy queue (LTS).

However the NEW queue is a policy queue, so the sync happened even
though jessie is no longer maintained on ftp-master.

Maybe we need a different criteria to mark packages that should be
synced from security-master to ftp-master.

This was uploaded to security-master so I don't know why you're seeing
it on ftp-master as well.
