This library is most useful for using currently ongoing extensions of the linux kernel towards a new high-speed packet processing layer called XDP which uses eBPF. One software currently in Debian that might directly benefit from this library is suricata (https://suricata.readthedocs.io/en/latest/capture-hardware/ebpf- xdp.html). I'd prefer orangefs (mainly because of its license terms). We'd like to use Debian/stable for this set up, unfortunately, the current debian kernel has orange-fs support disabled.
