Dear Maintainer,

Having changed my virtual machine setup to run kernel 5.10.4,
I've noticed that a kernel regression breaks cgit's use of
sendfile() in e.g. fcgiwrap setups like mine, because sendfile()
to a pipe() no longer works. See also

https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/C8KER7U60WXE.25UFD8RE6QZQK@oguc/

(I reported the additional pipe() issue there, bug the list is
currently down). A simple test program I wrote is here:

https://p.sipsolutions.net/b8b30d96fd9428a8.txt

In any case - this is obviously not really a bug in cgit but
rather in the kernel, but I thought perhaps a warning might be
something you'd appreciate.

Thank you for heads-up. I checked as we are getting close to the soft
freeze for bullseye, and the issue appears resolved in linux 5.10.11:

Hello everyone,

Just quick notice that newest upstream will be uploaded tomorrow to sid.
It has relevant updates for Intel bluetooth && realtek.
I plan to ask for a freeze exception to have the corresponding firmwares

Bug#982308: linux-image-arm64: revert DTB overlay config

2021-02-08 Thread Jiri Kastner
Package: linux-image-arm64
Version: 5.10.0
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

removal of kernel config options for overlay is causing me
troubles to play with dtb without reboot.

for example jtag/swd/trace pins are usually muxed with gpio/sdmmc/lcd
on arm devices.
to be able debug or trace i need to recompile dtb and reboot. and having
such pins permanently exposed in dtb is not good idea for production
kernels.

Bug#982304: linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64: File include/generated/autoconf.h missed to compile virtualbox-dkms

2021-02-08 Thread Sedat Dilek
Package: linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64
Version: 5.10.13-1
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: sedat.di...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

Today, I tried to build virtual-dkms from Debian/unstable against
linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64.

This breaks here, thus I filed Debian Bug #982301:
"virtualbox-dkms: Error! Your kernel headers for kernel 5.10.0-3 cannot be
found."

Please, see my detailed analysis there.

The important part is said in my comment #20:

- BeginOfQuote -
# dpkg -L linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64 | egrep 'auto.conf|autoconf.h'
/usr/src/linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64/include/config/auto.conf
/usr/src/linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64/include/generated/autoconf.h

# LC_ALL=C ll /usr/src/linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64/include/config/auto.conf
/usr/src/linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64/include/generated/autoconf.h
ls: cannot access
'/usr/src/linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64/include/generated/autoconf.h':
No such file or directory
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 143K Feb 6 09:23
/usr/src/linux-headers-5.10.0-3-amd64/include/config/auto.conf

So, the package contents list "I ship a include/generated/autoconf.h"
but it does not exist :-).
- EndOfQuote -

Please, confirm that my analysis is correct.
If yes, please provide (really) an include/generated/autoconf.h file so that
DKMS is happy.

Thanks.

Virtual Greetings from Moenchengladbach/Germnay,
