If yes, I shall wait. Sorry for my confusion.

3.16.1 from upstream that I used, is without patch from me.

The module that crashes the linux kernel 3.13 and later on my system is

I says that because blacklisted radeon works fine but, sure, then video
has poor quality.

The mothercard is MSI A78M-E35 with AMD A4-5300 (CPU+GPU).

Bug#690812: linux-image-3.2.0-0.bpo.3-686-pae: Kernel 3.2.0 reports bad dvd type from NEC DVD_RW ND-3540A drive

2012-10-17 Thread Alain Rpnpif
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.23-1~bpo60+2
Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***
A lot of issue occurs from NEC DVD_RW ND-3540A drive with 3.2.0 kernel.
The last 2.6.32 kernel has not this issues (burning and reading).

A lot of DVD-R are unreadable. They are seen as DVD-RW instead of DVD-R.

I must say that with 2.6.32, the dvd are not recognized all the times.
Sometimes, I must open and close the tray one or two times before that
the dvd is recognized. But they are always seen, not with 3.2.0.

Same iso9660 dvd with photos in directories for the two kernels.

Bug#684636: CDROM fail to mount

2012-08-13 Thread Alain Rpnpif
Hi,

service hal stop makes that the CD/DVD NEC drive now works fine.
But with or without hal, LG drive does not appear in the list of drive
of Nautilus. This issue is randomly from one session to another. Perhaps
same issue that 620278.

mount /dev/sr1 /media/cdrom
Without hal, mount command line with LG drive only have the same bug
than this : about one minute to work with numbered SCSI errors.
After that LG drive works fine with mount only durong this session.
