Bug#1023103: linux-image-5.10.0-14-amd64: Wrong power value on APU2 with bullseye
Hi Salvatore, Thank you for testing. And before 5.10.113 can you pin point to a version in which showed sensible versions? If so you have a starting point to bisect where the problem is introduced which would be very helpfull to determine the pontential issue. A friend of mine did these tests and here are the results: 4.19.260 HAS NOT the bug 4.19.264 HAS NOT the bug 5.0.1 HAS the bug 5.1 HAS the bug So it looks like the bug appeared in kernel 5. Kind regards, Alexis Domjan

The power indicates coherent values under Debian 10.13 with an older version of the kernel: Linux 4.19.0-20-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.235-1 (2022-03-17) x86_64 GNU/Linux Does the issue persist with a more recent kernel (either from backports or from unstable)? I didn't test any older version of 5.x kernel nor more recent one. I will see if I can give a try. Kind regards, Alexis Domjan

Hi Salvatore, Le 30.10.22 à 10:21, Salvatore Bonaccorso a écrit : Control: tags -1 + moreinfo Since 5.10.113-1 is already superseeded by several uploads, can you confirm the issue you are seeing is still present in the most current uploaded version? (5.10.149-2). Sorry, indeed, I didn't noticed it wasn't the latest available version of the kernel. After the update, however, the issue is still present with the same symptoms. Linux 5.10.0-19-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.149-2 (2022-10-21) x86_64 GNU/Linux Do you need more information ? Kind regards, Alexis

Package: src:linux Version: 5.10.113-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, With bullseye, /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/power1_average is wrong when the system is idle (80-120W on a system whose max is probably 10); it is correct when the CPU is used. The bug is not present in buster. With or without amd64 microcode, no change either. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 5.10.0-14-amd64 (debian-kernel@lists.debian.org) (gcc-10 (Debian 10.2.1-6) 10.2.1 20210110, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Debian) 2.35.2) #1 SMP Debian 5.10.113-1 (2022-04-29) ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.10.0-14-amd64 root=UUID=ba17b2ff-2784-40f7-90df-68a96ccea48b ro console=ttyS0,115200u8 quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [7.198821] systemd[1]: Mounted Kernel Configuration File System.
