Bug#710343: nfs-common: If rpcbind is not enabled, init script cannot be ran at postint

2013-05-29 Thread Arnaud Fontaine
Package: nfs-common
Version: 1:1.2.8-2
Severity: normal

Hello,

When rpcbind or more generally any services providing $portmap is
disabled, then nfs-common init script cannot be ran at postinst, leaving
the packages half-configured:

Setting up nfs-common (1:1.2.8-2) ...
insserv: Service rpcbind has to be enabled to start service nfs-common
insserv: exiting now!
update-rc.d: error: insserv rejected the script header
dpkg: error processing nfs-common (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Cheers,

Bug#512453: initramfs-tools.8.gz: Please document environment variables for hook scripts

2009-01-20 Thread Arnaud Fontaine
Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.92o
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

When trying to write an initramfs hook script, I didn't find any
explanation in initramfs-tools.8.gz about environment variables exported
for hook scripts, except $DESTDIR. I was actually trying to find
something such as $MODULESDIR.Could you please document these
variables?

Cheers,

Bug#401719: netfilter: libipt_multiport: getsockopt failed strangely invalid argument

2006-12-05 Thread Arnaud Fontaine
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.18-6
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Hello,

When I try to use the '-m multiport' argument of iptables, I have the
following error message:

# /sbin/iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --sports \
 ssh,www,imap2,pop3,domain,https,smtp,auth -m state \
  --state NEW,ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT
getsockopt failed strangely: Invalid argument

According to Patrick McHardy[0], this error appears because the 32 bit
compat code doesn't implement the SO_GET_REVISION_MATCH/TARGET options
and returned an error in kernel version 2.6.16 and 2.6.19, a patch
is available[1]. I built the kernel image using this patch and this
error doesn't appear anymore.

Arnaud Fontaine

Hello,

It is fixed AFAIK. Squashfs FTBFS but not for the same reason. Thanks
for your work. If Max agrees, it is maybe the time to close this bug,
right ?

Arnaud Fontaine

squashfs_1:3.0-5(ia64/unstable): FTBFS: missing files

2006-06-07 Thread Arnaud Fontaine
Hello,

Squashfs kernel module doesn't build on IA64 [0]. I don't really
understand why these files (module.lds, toolchain-flags, check-gas)
doesn't exist on IA64 only. Any idea ?

Arnaud Fontaine
