Bug#714053: Some more usefull info
I have been told to say a little bit more info on this that is useful: We are two guys in the office with the same laptop model, and having the same bug. We are using chrome and chromium, and both of us listen to music from there. We don't have very clear if it is due to the music or due to moving between tabs, thought I think its more about the music. The music stops in an infinite loop on kernel panic. I am going to test the backports kernel to see if this still reproduces there. Bug#705704: Hibernate is not working, kernel cleans nodes on startup
Package: src:linux Version: 3.2.41-2 Severity: important I have tried several times to hibernate the system and boot from it, and it is not working. I had after a partition resize my swap partition changed, and it wasn't being properly loaded due to the UUID having been changed. I have reconfigured the /etc/fstab to be aware of the partition, and now I am given the option to hibernate (without swap this is disabled), but it isn't working anyway. I am putting here all the logs reportbug asked me, but I will also send the full dmesg file. Well, it wasn't really a black screen, just those i2c unknown messages. I must say that with kernel 3.2 the computer doesn't boot, or at least it tells me about non-recognised ports and screen gets freezed. As that is during kernel load (sec 8), I suppose the problem is that it just doesn't have card info. No, probably not. But the problem has been reported in Ubuntu 12.04 as well, they also use the 3.2 kernel: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/952574. Reassigning to the kernel and marking the bug as fixed in 3.6. I begin to wonder if there are _any_ Fermi cards that work with Wheezy's kernel. :-/ Could you try Julien Cristau's kernel package that uses 3.4 DRM drivers? This is a possible solution for wheezy's current poor or missing support for some recent GPUs. Bug#694734: adjusting severity
This might go in another bug, but, Is there any way we can switch between one driver and another? I mean, is it possible to create an update-alternatives for graphical drivers? The various nvidia-* packages in non-free and contrib already provide such a system, but I haven't tried it. For detailed information, read /usr/share/doc/libgl1-nvidia-glx/README.alternatives in the libgl1-nvidia-glx package. Hi, I meant that if we could switch really between drivers, not just glx. In the way that you could do something like this: update-alternatives graphic-driver nvidia|| nouveau So it would then use nvidia or mesanouveau.
