Bug#258813: kernel-image-2.6.7-powerpc: Kernel oops on cmd64x driver load during kernel boot on BW G3
Package: kernel-image-2.6.7-powerpc Version: 2.6.7-3 Severity: normal While reinstalling Debian onto my Power Macintosh G3 Blue White, I decided to try one of the packaged kernels for PowerPC systems. Unfortunately, booting the 2.6.7 packaged kernel results in an Oops during the boot process, apparently induced by a bug in the cmd64x IDE controller driver. I don't currently have the Oops output, but I'll try booting it later and follow up to this bug with the full Oops text (I'll have to hand copy it, and it's of fairly healthy size). -- Derrik Pates [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages kernel-image-2.6.7-powerpc depends on: ii initrd-tools 0.1.71 tools to create initrd image for p ii module-init-tools 3.1-pre5-1 tools for managing Linux kernel mo -- no debconf information
