Yes, it is a bug in kernel-package, architecture.mk is not included. It is included in local-vars.mk, but it looks like this file is not included anymore. architecture.mk convert the architecture name in case the name in Debian and the name in the kernel tree is different, which is the case for powerpc (ppc), and hppa (parisc). JFTR, it is also the case for mipsel (mips). Thiemo

Manoj, maybe you can take a look at the build failures on powerpc and hppa at http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?arch=pkg=kernel-patch-2.4.27-mips The mips things should have been fixed in the latest Sid version, the hppa clean target build failure is fixed in 10.034, in incoming at the time of writing. manoj -- prairies, n.: Vast plains covered by treeless forests. Well mips-tools is only calling make-kpkg, that should work with both old and new kernels. Moreover the change Sven has done only concerns powerpc, not hppa. -- .''`. Apparently it was not taken into account that other packages might use the same files... First, Manoj checked over every change i made, second the changes where just to restructure the mapping from ppc/ppc64/powerpc over to the new post 2.6.14 ARCH change of the powerpc tree, i don't think they would have an effect here. I would guess that mips-tools will need to adapt to the new setup. This probably means either the 8.00x - 9.00x or 10.00x changes Manoj made, which where rather far-ranging. Do we know which was the latest version of kernel-package which built the mips-tools package correctly ?
